games like call of duty

Sorry, we just need to make sure you’re not a robot.

Bad Company 2 is a game that has a somewhat lackluster single player campaign, that scores bonus points for having entertaining characters, and loses a lot with being about a the race between Russian and US special forces to get their hands on a fictional Imperial Japanese superweapon.
Speaking about killing Nazis from above, here’s one game that takes place on the ground of reality, but makes a point of inserting the player from a more aloof position.
The rest of the game was too, and although it sure looked nice, it was a buggy mess that just couldn’t compete with Activision’s mighter competing title of last year, causing EA to eventually shut the door on the Medal of Honor franchise.
While not being the latest and greatest, and being a big disappointment to those coming here for the promised sniping action, this one is still a valid entry into the military shooting people game category.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare proved to be a game changer in the field of mass market shooters.
CS:GO updated the venerated game, took some rebalancing, but retained the cops and robbers, terrorists and counter terrorists core, including the iconic maps, delivering an updated and still fresh classic.
Also it was one of the first game to offer stereoscopic 3D, making it possible to kill Space Nazis in 3D.
A critical darling, this game takes the whole concept of the military shooter and turns it on its head.

The game combines solid first person shooter mechanics with a psychological style of horror.

It is the third game in the critically acclaimed BioShock series which has been praised for its strong gameplay, horror aspects and immersive storytelling.
Lately I’ve been noticing some games that are shooters that are similar to Call of Duty and I was wondering which games are worth playing.
For good first person shooters in general, though, try Bulletstorm, Halo Reach, Crysis 1, Bioshock, Singularity, and FEAR.
Another Tom Clancy title would be Rainbow Six: Vegas, again it has a decent single player, again it’s more forgiving than earlier games in the franchise and it’s a first person military shooter in a modern day setting.
Battlefield 3’s Close Quarters DLC has similar gameplay to the Call of Duty type of games, and is quite successful at it too.
Personally I feel you will be disappointed with the single player in any Battlefield game compared to Call of Duty.
I want to pick up the Halo games but I need money and I have never heard of the game Syndicate.
I have been playing Call of Duty 4 Modern Warefare and I think its a pretty fun game.
They have the scale and setting similar to Modern Warfare and the campaign is really good, they’re much more forgiving than the original game.
@saoakden: Well, the problem is Modern Warfare has pretty much cornered the market for modern shooters so there isn’t a lot of choices for modern shooters except for Battlefield and Medal of honor.
I liked how the game was set in modern times unlike previous games were they were set in WW2.
@supamon: Are you refering to first person shooters? If so, I also play Halo.
What do you mean similar? Similar as shooting games or similar gameplay? Battlefield is way different than Cod.

Поклонники шутеров не могли пройти мимо амбициозной и мало кому известной на тот момент игры Call of Duty, рассказывающей простую и бесхитростную, но полную опасностей и лихих поворотов историю трех обычных солдат американской, британской и советской армий.
Follow-up to 2009’s blockbuster Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops breaks new ground in the Call of Duty series and the video game industry at large by delving into the not-so cold conflicts of the Cold War.
Created with the input of actual Black Ops soldiers from the time, the game mixes traditional Call of Duty tactical shooter gameplay with new gameplay options designed to expand the players’ experience.
The newest installment in the biggest action series of all time and the follow-up to last year’s blockbuster Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops launches on November 9, 2010.
Black Ops is not a perfect game graphically and it doesn’t reinvent the wheel for FPS games, but it is a thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying experience that I don’t regret investing the time or money into.
Black Ops gives players a better experience in this regard, and despite being brief (7 hours roughly), it doesn’t feel too short or seem to end as abruptly as the Modern Warfare games.
I don’t live and die by COD games as some people do, but I can say that Black Ops is one of the most satisfying and intense shooters I’ve ever played, with the best campaign out of all the games in the series and a multiplayer aspect that I can finally enjoy.
Call of Duty: Black Ops is a first-person shooter with stealth and tactical play aspect that puts players in the role of a shadow soldier fighting in a variety of historically representative fictional Black Ops missions of the Cold War era.

Given that former Infinity Ward member Vince Zampella had so much influence on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, it’s reasonable to expect Titanfall to have a few similarities.
Where Call of Duty allows perks to be purchased and used indefinitely, the Burn Cards in Titanfall have to be earned through the completion of challenges.
Even so, with talk that Titanfall could dethrone Call of Duty after many years at the head of the FPS table, we wanted to take a closer look at some of the similarities between these two games.
With Titanfall, players can expect to receive a total of three Drop Pods, individually priced at $9.99, or $24.99 for the Season Pass.   Respawn Entertainment already indicated Drop Pods will be released in spring, summer and fall of 2014.
Just like the Season Pass, though, Call of Duty and Titanfall have no problem calling it like it is.
Between Call of Duty and Titanfall, the comparisons are going to be even more apparent, given that the man behind Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the same person behind Titanfall.
In fairness, the ideas that Titanfall shares with Call of Duty were partly the work of Vince Zampella in the first place.
Titanfall and Call of Duty simply call it a Season Pass.
Call of Duty has Domination, Titanfall has Hardpoint Domination.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare represents such a major step forward for the brand that one of its key developers even says, "You’ve never played Call of Duty this way before." That quote comes from Sledgehammer Games co-founder Michael Condrey, who said during a recent Best Buy Google Hangout that having three years to develop Advanced Warfare meant the studio had more time than ever before for experimentation.

Back in June, an ISIS fighter told the BBC that his new life was “better than that game Call of Duty.” Video-game-themed memes traced back to ISIS have been floating around the Internet for months, including one that reads, “THIS IS OUR CALL OF DUTY AND WE RESPAWN IN JANNAH.” (“Respawn” is the gamer word for reincarnate.) Another ISIS video, as the Intercept notes, looks like a deliberate homage to Grand Theft Auto.

During the World Cup, an ISIS Twitter account posted an image of a decapitated head with the message “This is our football, it’s made of skin #WorldCup.” That ISIS would try to access Western kids through such avenues speaks to a deep cynicism that discards the religious and the political for adrenaline and gore.

Upcoming shooter Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare features Oscar-winning House of Cards actor Kevin Spacey in a lead role, but if he had said no to the project, who else was up for consideration? Sledgehammer Games co-founder Michael Condrey says that while Spacey was "always" the company’s top choice for the role of Jonathan Irons, the studio also considered award-winning Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston and Brad Pitt.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Dev Considered Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston Sledgehammer Games says it "always" had Kevin Spacey in mind, but also considered Breaking Bad actor and Brad Pitt.
"Call of Duty is enough of a deathmatch game to keep people coming back to it year after year, but the design isn’t breaking people’s brains," Romero said.
You had games like Resident Evil who were TOTALLY FINE and UNIQUE using fixed cam angles, different tank controls,pre-rendered backgrounds to make the environment feel real which all added to the tension of the game and DID NOT need to turn into ANOTHER generic over-the-shoulder 3rd-person shooter.
@deadeternityx Not a chance bud, Daikatana, FAR from a GREAT game, actually had decent level design and fun gameplay, I didn’t play it back in the day but got it on a Steam sale recently to see if it was "That Bad’ and the only things I didn’t like about it were a few boring, unsatisfying guns, some weird/stupid enemies and a few ‘offly’ coloured textures.
Speaking with Edge, Romero said he understands why Call of Duty is a chart-topper every year, but claimed the core design of the franchise hasn’t shifted much.
Though he hasn’t given any solid details on his new project, he says open-ended sandbox game Minecraft has proven that games don’t need a major publisher like Activision to succeed.
A pre-order bonus was announced entitled ‘Advanced Arsenal’ which consists of a Custom Exoskeleton & EM1 Quantum Weapon usable in multiplayer.[18] An advertisement revealed that the collector’s editions will include a bonus multiplayer map, "Atlas Gorge", which is a remake of the map "Pipeline" from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare; an Atlas Digital Content Pack, which include two bonus weapons, a custom character helmet, a player card, five in-game "supply drops", and a single-player upgrade token.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is an upcoming 2014 first-person shooter video game developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision.
It will feature double XP for the first day and two exclusive guns.[5][6][7] However, it was announced that Sledgehammer Games will not be developing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360; instead, High Moon Studios will be developing the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions.
A Call of Duty massively multiplayer online game was also rumored to be in development.[10] Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg later stated that Modern Warfare 3 was not the same title as Sledgehammer Games’ action-adventure Call of Duty game.
Before being switched to become the co-developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Sledgehammer Games was already working on a Call of Duty game called Call of Duty: Fog of War.
In 2009, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 broke the record for highest gross from a form of media’s first day on the market, bringing in $310 million in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia alone, beating Grand Theft Auto IV’s record of $310 million worldwide.
↑ On November 10th, 2009 episode of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, the day of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s release, Aasif Mandvi reminisced about how at the 40th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall he gave news coverage while under attack by "Nazi zombies".
However the highest revenue generated by an entertainment product in 24 hours is now held by Grand Theft Auto V at $800 million, $300 million more than Call of Duty: Black Ops II.[1] Call of Duty: Ghosts was predicted by Activision to surpass this record,[2] although did not succeed.
In 2007, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was a critical and commercial success, being the bestselling game of 2007 and having sold 10 million copies by June 2008.
This has been in effect since the release of Call of Duty: Ghosts, replacing the old system of only Treyarch and Infinity Ward interchanging as main developers each year.

you have 30 bullets in your magazine which will reload automatically, but this will take precious time, so try and be accurate with your shots.
After the demo, Tripwire President John Gibson and I got talking about the state of first-person shooters, and Gibson laid out a detailed criticism about the way Call of Duty "takes individual skill out of the equation." Gibson also expressed frustration over how difficult it had been trying to design a mode for Red Orchestra 2 that appealed to Call of Duty players.
But it was really a calm discussion of, “What don’t you like?” and “It doesn’t feel like Call of Duty.” Almost every element boiled down to “it doesn’t feel like Call of Duty.” And really, watching some of these guys play… one of the things that Call of Duty does, and it’s smart business, to a degree, is they compress the skill gap.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare envisions the powerful battlegrounds of the future, where both technology and tactic have evolved to usher in a new era of combat for the franchise.
Delivering a stunning performance, Academy Award winning actor Kevin Spacey stars as Jonathan Irons — one of the most powerful men in the world — shaping this chilling vision of the future of war.
