how to fade a tattoo

Sorry, we just need to make sure you’re not a robot.

Laser tattoo removal is one of the few methods of tattoo removal that does not involve cutting into the skin and instead uses pulses of light at a very high concentration to remove the tattoo.
Removal creams are the cheapest (cheapest, not cheap) and least painful method of tattoo removal: however, their effectiveness depends on regular, diligent use.
The Tattoo Removal Institute recommends a couple different creams that seem to be effective, including TatBGone and Tattoo-OFF.
The effectiveness of any professional method is dependent on the abilities of the professional, your skin type and color, your tattoo, and your tattoo artist.
The bad news is that tattoos are meant to be permanent, and even state-of-the-art removal techniques won’t work for everyone; your chance of success varies with your skin color and the tattoo’s pigments and size.
"Patients with tattoos with those colors, I actually try to convince them not to remove it, unless they just want to fade it enough to cover it up with another tattoo," Frank says.
"I wasn’t proud of my decision and wanted to hide it." Her doctor estimated she would need 20 laser sessions — more than most people, due to the multiple colors in the tattoo.
"Laser removal is the standard of care," says Frank, but that doesn’t mean it’s foolproof.
If you’re ready to get a tattoo removed, you’re not alone: According to a 2006 survey in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 24 percent of 18- to 50-year-olds have tattoos, and 17 percent have considered tattoo removal.
Unlike other methods, getting another tattoo — and to a lesser extent, laser removal — is the only procedure that guarantees results.
Much like a chemical peel removes the top layer of skin, an acid solution is used to remove the tattoo in this procedure.
When you do not like your tattoo anymore and you would like to cover it up or have it removed, you might want to consider encouraging it to fade naturally.
Tattoo removal procedures are costly and painful, and a faded tattoo may be less expensive and less painful to remove.
·         Apply antiseptic ointment and also apply a strip of sterile gauze on the treated region after each application.
Tattoo removal creams reportedly seep into the inked region and disintegrate the pigment of the skin.
·         It is sensible to avoid this treatment if you have recently hurt or cut the area in some way.
·         The process may leave large scars if carried out improperly.
·         Use ground salt.

During this week I’ve basically been freaking out ever so slightly wondering what to do and what to try, living day by day on the Internet researching any possible means to remove my barbed wire, and lighten my tree.
I have stopped the dermabrasion and the Nair burning… I had a laser tattoo removal consult to go to during my 3rd week after the tree tattoo, and wanted my arm clear enough in case I wanted to get anything done.
I will continue the creams on the tree but as for the barbed wire, it’s gonna be laser.
And that’s another wonderful thing about laser, THERE IS NO SCARRING!! Your skin heals up perfectly fine! Soon I will be getting the bottom half done, and then the barbed wire.
I continue to attempt to lighten the entire tree at home, but I have to stop on the areas I’m going to get the laser on.
I learned that Vaseline is horrible on new tattoos and will draw the ink out, so of course I had to get some… I had no idea if it would effect my barbed wire, but realized it would if my barbed wire had a wound, just like the new tattoo is just a really a big wound and Vaseline over that would draw the ink out.
I figured I’d need to open the skin before using this as the instructions say to scrub off the top portion of your wart and then apply the salicylic acid, meaning it needed to get under the skin to work.
I’ve also started trying Hydrogen Peroxide to lighten at least the tree tattoo, and I’ve seen major results.
I am pretty amazed at how much lighter this section of barbed wire is, after only a few weeks of one laser session.
I put this on a small portion of my barbed wire and left it there, and would put on Salicylic Acid afterwards.
I had my second laser session done, and this one hurt bad!!! She did a larger area of the barbed wire.
If I can at least lighten it as much as possible before the laser, I’ll hopefully need less treatments on the tree.
ok people…..i gave up trying to get this thing off myself.. once i had my first laser session there was not going to be anything else that was going to work for me..honestly laser is AWESOME and the only real good way to go.

You missed a major one that people say: “Tattoos last forever” when actually Tattoos are an art form on a dying canvas! There are cave paintings going back tens of thousands of years still in existance today but each tattoo art piece will only exist for 70 to 80 years and then it is gone forever.
Perhaps the influence of almost half the people within your age group having tattoos played a larger role in your decision to tattoo yourself than you’re willing to admit.
I’ve met old men who loved my tattoos and young people that hated them it just depends on how they were raised or how they think society “should be”.
I want to hear your reasons for disliking tattoos since these are apparently just weak arguments from “the lowest common denominator” of people with negative opinions of tattoos.
Considering the fact that close to 40% of people in my age group have tattoos, if I do end up in a nursing home when I’m older, I expect to be in good company, surrounded by others with tattoos.
I have seen people with face tattoos and who am I to judge them for that when I have the top of my hand tattooed? people associate us with terrible people or stupid people, when the person with no tattoos could be a convicted rapist….you just never really know a person especially by tattoos.
I hear of people regretting tattoos but how could i regret the lessons i’ve learnt? My tattoos are a visual reminder to remain humble, remember these lessons and strive forward as a global individual.
As for people having low self esteem, being sluts, dirty w.e it all comes off as being unintelligent when making arguments or accusations such as these when discussing tattoos.
I don’t find the combination of dark hair and eyes attractive so what? As far as tattoos go, yeah there are some that are unattractive if they are profane and insulting to a group of people ect.
I often say artist’s are my favorite people, due to the fact that when you listen, see or read art the artist is showing you a piece of themselves; which is exactly how I see tattoos on someone’s body.
The complete contradiction between these last two arguments is pretty much the only proof I need to show that blanket statements about people with tattoos will never apply to all tattooed people equally.
as a person who plans on getting tattoos i like how you address the issues people have with them.
The biggest issue I have with this argument is that it’s just lumping all people with tattoos into one big group.
Tattoos are made to be observed, and to some observers, seeing a tattoo has the same quality as seeing, say, a “KHOT 99.9 FM!” bumper sticker placed on the back of a beautiful $400,000 sports car.
I have nothing bad to say about tattoos nor will I think anything negative about people getting tattooed.
I don’t see the point in hating on people with tattoos I mean its like them hating on you for your clothes because they don’t like them.
If that’s the case, the highest percentage of those people that do happen to choose to get tattoos also happen to be within your age group.
I don’t like tattoos at all, and quite frankly don’t associate myself with thous people if at all possible.

The sun, especially excessive amounts will fade your tattoos (with the exception of black) at about the same rate it will cause the skin itself to degrade.
Often I hear from people "this tattoo is old, like 5 years old, it needs recoloring" I read this as either the artists did not apply the pigment correctly, or that the client exposed himself to too much sun or got it dirty or wet while healing.
When black tattoos turn green, that is your skin aging, taking the tattoo along with it.
