jerry hicks

Here is what Abraham has said about Jerry’s death: Death is expansion, Jerry’s soul required a broader perspective, that could only be provided by non-physical form, in order to do what he wanted to be able to do.
I believe that all people come into this lifetime on a soul journey, and that those who choose, again, on a SPIRITUAL level, to come into this life handicapped, poor, gay, tall, rich, short, or with any other specific life circumstances do so knowingly, and deliberately, to have the life experience that the soul wants to be a part of.

Not surprisingly, the voices inside Hicks’ head started coming to her after she read the works of Jane Roberts, another channeller who died in 1984.[2] Depending on whether one asks Esther or reality, these books either opened up her mind to commune with whatever it is she communes with or to just how credulous the average American mark was to psychic woo.
Esther Hicks appeared in The Secret originally to the tune of $500,000, but when director Rhonda Byrne wanted to release an "extended edition" (the that keeps on giving) Hicks wanted more money.
The inherent creepiness of her shtick is lessened when it becomes clear that Esther Hicks is talking in a weird voice in order to scam people out of money.
Esther Hicks (born Esther Weaver on March 5th 1948) is a spirit channeller (she prefers the term "receiver") who is well known for talking about herself in the third person.[1] Hicks claims to channel approximately 100 otherworldly beings with the amazingly worldly name of Abraham.
The main publisher for all this drivel is Hay House, a notorious publishing firm that thumps all the latest self-help gurus from the bland and "mostly harmless" motivational speakers to the truly insane psychology woo quacks like Esther and Jerry Hicks.
Naturally the Hicks got absolutely everything they wanted and that proved their teachings are correct! It worked out badly for Hicks, the conflict eventually ended up with Byrne editing out every appearance of Esther and Jerry Hicks in the movie, creating some seriously disjointed flow.
The basic theme is that the universe has a consciousness and "adores" everyone (this provides easy "meaning" to existence and confers cosmic significance to individuals); that people can create anything they want just by thinking about it (no effort required to reach whatever dream you may have); and that people are immortal (no need to fear death).
This is highlighted beautifully by the conflict between Esther Hicks and the director of the film The Secret.
At the Abraham-Hicks Workshop held on December 10th, 2011 in Phoenix Arizona — the first after Jerry's "croaking" — Abraham, who is Source Energy translated by Esther Hicks, responded to questions from several workshop participants, and gave their loving perspective on Jerry's passing and its effect on Esther and those touched by his life's work.
Also, for a greater understanding of the work of Esther and Jerry Hicks, please view our YouTube video entitled "Introduction to Abraham" here: , or go to our YouTube channel main page and watch any of the dozens of videos there.
Jerry said to me when we came together over 30 years ago that given the difference in our ages that it was likely “that I will cut out on you early,” to which I replied, “I don’t mind.” His joy of life and continual new discovery of purpose kept his life feeling fresh and we shared such joyous eagerness for life.
In 2009, he stood as General Secretary of Amicus, winning 40,000 votes to the Derek Simpson’s 60,000.[4] He is currently standing for election as the Joint General Secretary of Unite the Union,[5] which was formed in 2007 from the merger of Amicus and the Transport and General Workers’ Union.
Hicks stood in the 2010 election for the general secretary of Unite the Union and made a number of election pledges, including that he would only take the wage of an average skilled worker.
Can’t you give yourself and everyone a break here and see that we all have a ways to go? If you are wanting to make a positive change in the way people are treating animals, or even other humans, the way to go about it would be to lead by positive example, not bash those, and of all people Jerry, Esther, and Abraham, who are trying to make a significant and lasting positive impact.
While Abraham do say that it is not wrong to eat animals, which you and I would both disagree with, they also talk a lot about nothing being ‘bad’ or ‘wrong’ – yet that does not mean that they are encouraging people to go out and murder each other – so I do feel that there is room for interpretation here.
The point of this post was to remind people that just because you value certain Abraham teachings, you don’t have to agree with everything Jerry and Esther say or think of them as spiritually enlightened beyond others.
And the fact that the invincible Jerry died of leukemia does not falsify any of the the Abraham-Hicks teachings – it simply reminds people that he was human, just as Esther is.
The other thing that is really scary is that many people believe that “Abraham” and Esther are two different things! When she does that ridiculous sigh at the beginning of her talks I want to crawl under a chair! C’mon people! Really!! I met a bunch of “Abrahamers” at a seminar once and they all seemed really creepy.
Death is inevitable, but Esther has often said that death doesn’t need to be painful and Jerry’s disease certainly caused him a great amount of physical and emotional suffering, so I think this is where people caught some inconsistencies between Esther’s teachings and this outcome Jerry experienced.
It was to remind people that Esther and Jerry are only human, that Jerry’s death does not change the value in the teachings, and to ask people to differentiate the worth taught from Esther’s own personal agenda (eg.
Esther teaches that those who contract illness think illness and radiate illness, and therefore attract it – so why would Jerry have invited this illness? Could they not apply the of attraction to heal Jerry, as they so often instructed others to do? Where was their best buddy Abraham? *Esther has since interpreted this to mean that the drawn out experience of dying by sickness was so their goodbye process could be elongated and therefore diluted for an easier transition.
I know that Abraham have said ‘it is not wrong to eat animals’, and I know that Esther does eat animals, but I still think it’s important to distinguish between what Esther says and what Abraham says.
ah you miss a vital point here my young friend,in this life we are all here to serve, there is the growth the expansion.i suggust you take another look at the vortex principle, you connect much negative actions with animals,do not the animals by association to humans grow from this connection,be it a pet, fish in a tank, food on the table.they become part of our vibration.i my xmas turkey,i animals is that a paradox simply no, oh didnt know they had electric fences in the early ages, missed that.there is much anger in you words ,you need to chill and accept that christ at the last supper didnt just eat bread ! the crops also have feelings and they serve us.perhaps you need to feel that vortex or heart not with judgement and angry words but compassion for sinner sailor and spy….
– Many people have found that this post expressed what they were feeling regarding Esther Hicks stance towards animals.
People are constantly asking Esther about animals because they intuitively know that something is amiss with the current Abraham stance on this topic, and they will not stop asking until more compassionate answers are given because the truth is persistent.
I find it convenient that Esther eats meat and supports violence towards animals – it’s easier for her to condone it than change her lifestyle.
Can you imagine if people didn’t let Esther get away with this lazy thinking, and instead inspired her to move beyond her violent choices? If people aren’t concerned about violence to animals, think of the oppression involved with those who are made to work in slaughterhouses, or the worldwide hunger exacerbated by animal agriculture.
I have written several articles about their misinterpretation of animal suffering not to point fingers, but because Esther’s callous attitude about animals as beasts (alternately referring to them as friends when convenient) is damaging on a large scale level to listeners who elevate Esther to God-like.
Whether that came from Jerry, Esther or Abraham…does it really matter? I love your perspective on the whole thing, wearethey! “Don’t throw the Email out with the Spam”! (that was great by the way).
When the public discovered that Jerry Hicks had leukemia, Esther would not talk about it, stating that she did not want to draw negative energy to the circumstance, and that is where I have always believed that Esther was getting it a little wrong: in order to move beyond the difficult, one must acknowledge the problem first to manifest otherwise – articulate to dissipate.
Why does anyone think Jerry failed by “not fighting” his illness….What if this WAS Jerry’s intentional exit?…Abraham always said all death is a suicide…..Jerry loved life, but he was also a seeker of more, a seeker of why, a seeker of what’s next….I truly believe he wanted to go at this time, he wanted to know what’s on the other side for himself…..Everyone’s gonna die, and this was Jerry’s way of picking his “when”….
PT Barnum said that there is a sucker born every minute… for myself I have listened to the teaching of Abraham thru Ester and Jerry Hicks and while I found some teachings didn’t fit my specific belief, I did take away may wonder attributes of said teachings… If you can find peace and enlightenment from any teaching then taking what you learn is that much more to your own peace and fulfillment.
But beyond that, there was a Vortex swirling, a Vortex that Jerry had been creating all of this physical life experience and that was in place even before he came into this physical experience, and long before Jerry and Esther came to know one another in this physical experience, about understanding that there is not death, about understanding that we are eternal Beings, about understanding that Consciousness is an eternal thing, about wanting to understand the interplay between what is Nonphysical and physical, about wanting to teach about the Law of Attraction, the Laws of the Universe, wanting to understand how it all fits together.
In other words, we said to Esther, just the other morning in fact, while Jerry believed that the subject that was of keenest interest to much of the world was how to understand diseases, or how to understand something like cancer, that there’s an even bigger thing that people are wanting to understand from our Perspective, and that is the subject of the death experience, that is the subject of the eternal nature of your Being.
Either they’re going to figure this out and I’m going to bounce back into my physical body feeling good or they’re not going to figure this out and I’m going to reemerge into NonPhysical, and in either case I want you to know I’m good.” And Esther said, “Well, good for you, I’m only good with one of those options.” (Soft audience laughter) And we said to Esther, Jerry is the only one who gets to choose.
Thank You Jerry and Esther for helping me find the steping stones to health, wealth and unconditional love – the human world is tough but the essence of who we are is love, light and laughter.
My love to Jerry, Esther and Abraham! My life has changed exponentially since I met the three of you.
As a child, Jerry lived in such poverty that, he says a bit sheepishly, "My mother once resorted to cutting the neighbor’s fence and letting the cows wander in so she could get milk for my little brother." Yet, by the time he met Esther, Jerry had built a multi-million-dollar business operation engaging over 100,000 people.
Jerry’s life reads like a celebrity bio: circus performer, juggler, boxer, singer, gymnast, radio show host, comedian, millionaire entrepreneur.
You chose the opportunity to experience this delicious contrast in time and space, and with great anticipation you came to co-create with other joy-seeking Beings, to fine-tune the process of deliberate thought.
If they believe Esther is channeling the deepest wisdom (which they have, not just shared, but sold aggressively), and they have 24X7 access, there is no way Jerry would have cancer or not be able to dispense with it simple, just as they have guaranteed others they could do.Since their teachings failed completely and, at the first opportunity, they ran away from Abraham to get conventional medical treatment, wouldn’t you think decent, honest people would be generous enough to followers who have trusted their advice to at least openly admit the truth that Jerry Hicks has cancer? They not only haven’t done so, they’ve twisted around like verbal gymnasts to avoid saying so.Lying to or misleading people about his illness is just good business for them.
I think my grandkids will keep some pictures though. As for your earlier comment in the section, which didn’t make the cut because it wasn’t responsive to the question asked (Here it is: "the hicks make other people happy and feel good, you are obviously not in the vortex, unhappily married (or divorced),frustrated and underpaid.."), I hate to disappoint someone as sweet as you, but the vortex is nonsense invented by Esther and Jerry; I’ve been happily married for over thirty years; I am frustrated by the failures of government in the country and the divisions bad politics have created; and I’ve been so well-paid, especially in the last decade that I quit my six figure job well ahead of retirement age to commit full time to writing and online marketing.
@anonymous: This comment is so incoherent, it’s hard to respond to, but if by "them" you mean Esther and Jerry (?), anyone who buys their claim to have been in daily one to one contact with Abraham, who is in direct contact with Source (=God) and has access to all the wisdom of all time, would have to expect them to be "better." That’s why they have shelled out serious coin for decades to listen to Esther speak live. Not sure if I answered what you were trying to say, but your comment was nearly impossible to sort out.
But admissions of an "extremely exaggerated" white blood cell count, a biopsy, "heavy chemotherapy" and a week’s intense hospital treatments told the story without using the "C" word, an insensitive evasion toward both other sufferers of cancer as well as the many followers who have routinely been told by Esther and Jerry Hicks’ creation, Abraham, that they give themselves cancer.
Our disagreeing on what we take out of our exposure to Esther and Jerry shouldn’t be misconstrued as a lack of understanding. And Abraham does claim proper manipulation of the "law of attraction" does turn you into a superhuman "megabeing" or does "You create your own reality" mean something other than what it clearly says? A lot of Abe followers have tried to back off Esther’s more extreme claims since Jerry died or made the startling claim that what’s clearly in black and white is being misinterpreted.
;fea… Is there anything wrong with finding things to feel good about? Does feel bad about something EVER do anyone any good? Does thining about Jerry Hicks having cancer and dying and Abraham being a scam really feel good to people here? If so, great.

Once introduced to the teachings of Abraham through Ester and Jerry Hicks, physical manifestations were instantaneous and my life was changed beyond ways of explaination.
Recognizing the practical results being received by themselves and by those people who were asking meaningful questions regarding the application of the principles of the Law of Attraction to finances, bodily conditions, and relationships—and then successfully applying Abraham’s answers to their own situations—Jerry and Esther made a deliberate decision to allow Abraham’s teachings to become available to an ever-widening circle of seekers of answers to how to live a better life.

Then, recognizing the practical results being received by those persons who began plying Abraham with meaningful personal questions regarding their finances, bodily conditions, and relationships, the Hickses made a conscious decision to allow Abraham’s teachings to become available to an ever-widening circle of seekers.
And at times I am catching a glimpse of the bigness of what Jerry is feeling and while I am still pretty mad at him for not sticking around longer to surprise and delight me in all the ways he has been doing throughout our 30 years together I accept fully that the next logical step of joyous life for Jerry was to be found in his re-emergence into Nonphysical.
I am such a fortunate girl, to have been able to play with Jerry and Abraham and all of you for so many wonderful years and I am so eager to continue doing more of the same for many more years to come.
I know that Jerry will continue to be the third powerful point of the triad of Energy that makes up the Abraham experience and I am certain that his new vantage point will be, as it has always been, of advantage to us all.
It has taken me some time to understand this, and I honestly must say I have not yet fully come to terms with it, but I do believe that in what we are calling Jerry’s death he is discovering the next logical step of life that Abraham has always been talking about.
And my desire to continue not only my Abraham experience but also my Jerry experience I am certain he will be the catalyst to help me do what Abraham has been trying to help us all do all along.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in changing some aspect of their life; those interested in universal laws; and those interested in communications from the other side.
As with many other books on the laws of manifesting, this book adequately outlines the universal laws and gives some great insights.
The other books by Jerry and Esther Hicks are sequels to this edition and contain elaborative information on the teachings in this book.
I would also recommend that you read "The Power of Intention" by Wayne Dyer, as this is another excellent book on the power of our thoughts, and how we can literally change our life by changing our thoughts.
This book is one of the many books that speak of the Universal laws and Truths of manifesting.
As a side note, the information included in this book was obtained through the channeling of ABRAHAM – a group of entities in the non-physical universe – through Esther Hicks.
After scouring new age book stores for years, and reading literally hundreds of books, I happened on this book (and Vol.
If you want to live a better life…..this book will teach you how to just that.
Esther and Jerry Hicks, the New York Times best-selling authors of Ask and It Is Given, The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent, The Astonishing Power of Emotions, and The Law of Attraction, among other works, produce the Leading Edge Abraham-Hicks teachings on the art of allowing our natural Well-Being to come forth.
Since 1989, using their San Antonio, Texas, conference center as their base, Esther and Jerry have traveled to approximately 50 cities a year (throughout Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, and the United States), presenting a series of interactive Law of Attraction Workshops to those leaders who have gathered to participate in this progressive stream of thought.
And although worldwide attention has been given to this philosophy of Well-Being by Leading Edge thinkers and teachers who have, in turn, incorporated many of Abraham’s concepts into their best-selling books, scripts, lectures, films, and so forth, the primary spread of this material has been from person to person, as individuals begin to discover the value of this form of spiritual practicality in their personal life experiences.
Jerry Hicks produces and presents the leading-edge Abraham-Hicks teachings on the art of allowing our natural Well-Being to come forth, along with Esther Hicks.

The famous book, Think and Grow Rich (click for a free copy), by Napoleon Hill was the first manuscript that provided Jerry Hicks with answers to his never-ending questions.
Jerry Hicks’ journey is outlined on this page and you can also find it in the very loving, powerful book The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham by Esther and Jerry Hicks.
In the 10 minute video below, taken from the 4-disc DVD set: "Ask and It Is Given: An Introduction to the Teachings of Abraham Hicks", Esther and Jerry Hicks talk about how their understanding of the "Abraham" energy has evolved, and what their years of interaction with Abraham has done for them personally.
Although Jerry felt strong negative emotion towards Ouija boards, his compulsion to find answers to his burning questions led him to a Ouija board session with a group of friends that were insisting he join them.
Prior to communicating with Abraham via Esther, Jerry had a never-ending stream of questions for which he searched for answers, in most cases unsuccessfully.
Although the Seth material felt right to Jerry, Esther was frightened by the book, due to the way in which the information had come to be written and also due to the photo of Jane in a trance on the back of the book.
You can read the story of Jerry Hicks on the official Abraham Hicks site, or click to listen to the audio here.

(The Hickses claim that in 1985 they began dialogs with Abraham, which is a "name chosen by a group of nonphysical teachers, who deliver an inspirational message of joy and well-being."*) Abraham's message is straight out of the 19th century New Thought tradition: believing makes it so.
The idea that people create their own reality is sometimes called manifesting and despite the lack of good evidence in support of it, the Hickses have been able to tap into the persistent attractiveness of the optimistic message of such things as The Secret.
More than one-third of the people on our planet don't even have access to a flush toilet.* Will the Hickses advise 2.5 billion people to just believe in hygiene and it will come? Can anyone believe that if you happen to have the misfortune of being born, say, in a squalid Indian village governed by a caste system, that all you have to do is believe your way out? An ignorant person might blame karma or some god’s will for such a situation, but nobody in his right mind believes anyone born into those conditions lives that way because of their own thoughts or beliefs that could be changed by an act of will.
The Hickses claim Abraham gave them the "law of attraction." If "they" did, "they" stole it from Napoleon Hill's (1883-1970) Think and Grow Rich  or William Walker Atkinson's (1862-1932) Thought Vibration or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World (1906).
The same is true for scientific tests of the ability of people to affect something physical using only thought.* (See, in particular, my entries for the work done by Robert Jahn at Princeton and the work by Roger Nelson.) The research regarding being joyful and creativity, however, seems not to support the Hickses' claims.
They advise people to be joyful because "the Universe adores you" and "you cannot die." You can take these little messages of joy home with you, as the Hickses have many books, DVDs, CDs, MP3s, card decks, calendars, etc.
New Thought was described by William James as "a deliberately optimistic scheme of life." Esther Hicks has written at least nine books with her husband Jerry that promote a variety of optimistic messages.
On the other hand, if you're feeling really adventurous and want a complete change in your life, you might want to read my essay on "Creating Your Own Pseudoscience." I can guarantee you joy and success, as long as you don't mind taking advantage of troubled souls.
This is an excellent article on what Ed Diener called a "society that has become obsessed in its pursuit of the positive." Salerno is unhappy with the happiness industry, especially as it relates to the business world.
In addition to promoting delusions about the ability of people to cure others and themselves of horrible diseases by the power of thought, the New Thought movement encourages delusions in other areas of life.
The Hickses claim that Abraham taught them such things as "Anything That You Can Imagine is Yours to Be or Do or Have." This idea probably won't have much influence in most corners of the world.

Jerry Hicks death from cancer, according family members, was preceded by treatment with conventional medicine that rejects the "teachings of Abraham." Esther and Jerry Hicks readily acknowledge his receiving "heavy chemotherapy," but no one at the Abraham Hicks marketing company will openly admit to an illness that might mean the death of Abraham Hicks.
Esther and Jerry Hicks wisely designed a dumbed down version, Abraham, that was more accessible, but they borrowed Sheila Gillette’s public channeling act, including an initial accent, much as Theo still has.
Recently, however, as the message has muddied and very likely as the result of strains brought on by Jerry’s age and deteriorating health, Esther and Jerry Hicks have inspired efforts to draw and enclose a cult-like following and have, after years of singing a different tune, turned to exclusion as a way of controlling followers.
Then, for no disclosed reason, they are visiting Sheila Gillette for a reading with her channel, Theo (Five Archangels ranking higher than Abraham, according to them.) For some inexplicable reason, Esther and Jerry say that, shortly after, they are confronted by a stranger who informs them that Jane Roberts has died.
