kinect dance games

This Kinect dance game is similar to Michael Jackson, but specifically for Black Eyed Peas music and dance moves.
DanceMasters: This Kinect dance game, unlike Dance Central, allows two players to play at a time using one console.
Dance Central 3 for the Kinect is a great dancing game.
If you want to see a complete list of music tracks (which includes Black Eyed Peas’ "Pump It," Katie Perry’s "California Gurls," and Taio Cruz’s "Dynamite"), check out the Just Dance Facebook page.
Grease Dance: This game sounds a bit messy, but on further study we realize that it’s called "Grease Dance" because it’s based on music and dances from the classic musical.

Up to four players at a time can dance to this game, and videos capture the hilarity that ensues when you and your friends dance in step.
I’ve listed the best Kinect dance here to help you pick your next dancing title.

Fruit Ninja Kinect supports up to two simultaneous players and offers a second game mode where various power-ups are literally tossed into the mix, including ones that slow the fruit down or increase the number of points you’ll get for slicing them.
This enhanced version of an original Kinect launch title lets you and your little ones interact with virtual cats and bears in a lush island paradise, playing fun games with them along the way.
We’ve played every single Kinect game released since the accessory went on sale in the fall of 2010, so we know the games that you should pass on, and the ones that will literally make you jump in excitement.
Another Xbox Live Arcade Game, Fruit Ninja Kinect is a motion-controlled console version of the very popular mobile game from Halfbrick Studios.
Of all the best games for Kinect, The Gunstringer is the most like a traditional controller-based title, but it has a really fun gameplay mechanic that could really only be achieved using Microsoft’s peripheral.
If you own an Xbox 360, chances are good you’ve heard of Kinect, an accessory that lets you play games without using a traditional physical controller.

Watch as Jessica Chobot and Ryan Clements tear up the dance floor in our latest Full Motion Preview.
Kinect has a few promising titles in its launch lineup, and Dance Central from Harmonix is high on that list.

Brought to you by Harmonix, the developers who created the world-wide blockbuster Rock Band™, Dance Central is the first immersive dance video game that features and tracks full-body dance moves.
5 electronica songs (mostly from the late 90’s and early 2000’s – including a Kylie Minogue song (which is arguably pop music)), "Satisfaction" by Benni Benassi (Which is maybe the most overplayed electronic song ever? You’ll recognize it, trust me.), and "Days go by" by Dirty Vegas (Overplayed but at least it’s good)…no BT? no Daft Punk, no Chemical Brothers, no Justice?… I mean come on guys, give me something… I thought it was a Harmonix tradition to at least include a Freezpop song?… a few hip hop songs (most of which I had always thought were best left forgotten), like Snoop Dogg’s "Drop It Like it’s Hot" and Pitbull’s "I know you want me"… I mean WTF!… no Kanye? or Jay-Z? no Dr Dre? and no Eminem? … and no Rock and Roll…at all… in any form… unless you consider No Doubt’s "Hella Good" in that category, in which case… well, there’s no reasoning with some people.
Dance Central is a very special sort of game… no let me take that back… Dance Central is a special sort of EXPERIENCE…. the sort of experience that feels silly and immature and may even be embarrassing at times, but not the kind of experience that you’ll feel ashamed of… en’ contrar … you’ll want to tell everyone you know about it… you’ll want to throw parties focused around it… it’s the rare sort of experience that may actually end up being as fun as it looks on TV.
Dance Central, exclusively for Kinect for Xbox 360, is the first real dance video-game experience that is fun, social and for everyone! Brought to you by Harmonix, the developers who created the world-wide blockbuster Rock Band.
I played Kinect Adventures and I found the menus a little frustrating because you have to hold your hand there while it figures out that’s what you want, but with Dance Central its just a quick swipe and you move on.
Even the menus are simple and fun to use – right hand selects menu choices, left hand takes you back a screen – though the game might actually benefit from slightly larger or spread out menu select buttons – and while you’re systematically waving your hands you’re already realizing that this feels something like the future.
That’s right, you dance in time with the person on screen (literally mirroring their actions) and then the game will take a moment (to which you won’t notice because you are dancing) to decide how well you performed the action.

Given sparse notable game releases for Kinect coupled with sales figures of games VGChartz currently don’t track (such as Harry Potter for Kinect, Kinect Sesame Street TV, Kinect Nat Geo TV and Zumba Fitness Core), the software sales numbers can’t keep up with the hardware trends over the holiday season.
Even though we haven’t reached the end of the year just yet, the hardware sales for Kinect this holiday season have driven the sales figures for the last 4 months of 2012 to beat out the first 8 months of the year.
On the bright side, however, 2012 has some hot holiday sellers in the main bundled games (Kinect Adventures, Kinect Disneyland Adventures and Kinect Sports) for combined sales of 3.3m for the SW titles.
As we’ve seen in past years’ holiday seasons, Kinect hardware and software sales have thrived during the last three months of 2012.
Moreover, the strong legs of last year’s games (Kinect Sports Season Two, Just Dance 3, Dance Central 2 and Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012) dwarf the sales of 2012 releases in comparison, even when looking at sales made in 2012.
This means that the holiday sales were considerable enough that what Kinect sold in the first 8 months, it was able to match in the last 4 months.

Kinect Games for Students (16 to 17 yrs) The best games for students, studying, college, school and young-adults aged from 16 to 17 years old.
Although limb tracking best fits the exuberance of Football, Running and Boxing, Kinect’s unexpected detection of bodily location and orientation means that it also offers enough control fidelity for games like Table Tennis.
Kinect Games for Grandparents The best games for grandparents, older, senior, grown-up, mature, retired and wiser people.
Simple and easy controls and bright colours engage young players in some educational and informative games.
These games work with the basics of play and should easily engage the super young players in our families.
Kinect Sports: Kinect Sports establishes a high bar for the 360 motion controlled games.

I have to agree! I use the Dance Central Games, the My Shape Fitness Evolved 2012 (warning…the calorie counter is not very accurate) and the Kinect Adventures.
I like this list of the best Kinect fitness games, although there are plenty of other great sites out there that give good advice.
I have tried both Your Shape games, Get Fit With Mel B, Jillian Michaels and EA Sports Active 2 and for me since I have a problem with getting started and beeing motivated to train EA Sports Active 2 was the best since the 9 week program kept me going.
I think Your Shape Fitness Evolved is probably the most pinpointed towards calorie loss, but I often play Kinect Sports or Adventures for something a bit more fun and always move and jump around.

Many of the launch titles have utilized the integrated motion sensor in minor ways, but Rivals will be one of the first eighth-gen titles on the Big Green Machine that requires it for play as you jet ski, rock climb, and kick goals to your heart's content.
Kinect Sports Rivals hits Xbox One on April 8th, and it stands as one of the first titles to put Kinect 2.0 to the test.

Experience the latest technology in exertainment—the only system you control solely with your body movements and voice, no controllers needed! The Kinect encourages (and requires!) students to get up and get active since each game relies on complete body movement to play.
• Requires a greater range of player motion by using sensors within the controller and a video camera to track advanced controller movements.
All you have to do is move, then watch as your onscreen character mimics your movement simultaneously! Systems include an Xbox 360® with a massive 250GB of memory so you can save all your games directly onto the console for quick and easy access…no more lost or damaged discs! Games are included in the Basic and Deluxe Systems and are also available separately.
• Uses a camera with infrared light to track your body’s movement at 48 points then mirrors them on the screen, delivering the most accurate motion and position tracking of all systems.
• Encourages player motion by using sensors within the controller to track basic controller movements.
• Requires the use of a hand-held controller for each player, while some games require both a hand-held controller and nunchuk.
Using a camera with infrared light, the Kinect tracks your body's movement at 48 points, then projects that image onto the screen as the character in the game.
• Requires the use of a hand-held controller for each player; some games require two per player.

Microsoft, you remember the Kinect, right? It’s the original motion sensor peripheral that helped reinvigorate sales of the Xbox 360 and add a few years to the lifespan of the console.
commentary Even as the gaming world gawks at the next-generation Xbox One and its new Kinect, one CNET editor still wonders why he bought the original.
With all the noise about the upcoming Xbox One, the new Kinect, and now a hefty slate of next-generation games unveiled here at E3 on Monday, it’s glaring just how little attention was paid to the original Kinect.
It’s like those 24 million customers who bought a Kinect were beta users in a giant experiment to help create the more polished Xbox One Kinect.
Or Microsoft could devote some of its vast resources to actually building a game where the original Kinect truly adds to the experience.
Microsoft said it would continue to offer titles for the Xbox 360 — here’s hoping some are worth picking up for the Kinect.
"Kinect Star Wars" was a complete bust, and the Kinect function is more an unnecessary gimmick on games like "Madden NFL 13." There just aren’t any games that live up to the original promise of Kinect.

Also known as Dance Evolution, this game was released in the US in November 2010, and it has been developed and published by Konami, the creators of Dance Dance Central, the original dancing video game.
This is one of the best dancing games for the Kinect, and its accurate tutorials make it a great game for someone who wishes to learn how to dance properly as well.
The simultaneous multiplayer mode is good, and the game has a very nightclub feel to it, keeping in accordance with the original dance mat type video games.
The game was released in the US in November 2010, has been developed by Harmonix Music Systems and was published by MTV Games.

You can then play the song with your moves, have your friends do it, and if it’s an approved song, you can upload it for others around the world to dance to! You can download other people’s dance routines which definitely do not have flash cards or break it down modes, but the concept is very fun and innovative.
Dancing games are much more fun on the Kinect than the Wii, in my opinion, because it’s harder to fake the moves! I recently received Just Dance 3 to review.
I had not played the other Just Dance games since I didn’t really like the whole Wii dancing thing.

From what I’m readng and from the scanners ar receiving,MS is gonna have to open Harmonix’ cheeks wide and lick real good because it looks more and more like Dance Central it’s gonna be THE game that sells Kinect.
Crappy thing about Dance central is that the game doesn’t even follow your actual actions, as in, it’s not like the limbs and so on are tracking 1:1.

Lol, i own a kinect and 1st of all, i have it in my basement where the cielings are no more then eight feet high, and it can be played with no more then one light on in the whole basement if I want, like you said it uses Infra-red, second of all i could play the game butt ass naked if I want the clothes statement is rediculous, third off all it is only $150, that is extremley cheap considering that there is no extra attatchement you are going to need, no extra controllers (Wii, and PS3), and fourth of all no matter what gaming system you purchase you are going to need an extra outlet, either to let the controllers charge (or purchase battery opperated, which is a wholenother expense), also you can play the kinect from less then five feet away from your TV (not that far), fifth of all the audio calibration on the Kinect is an option, if youre speakers really are a problem (which I have not heard a single complaint about) then you can opt to turn off anything that involves voice activation, sixth of all why the h**l would you buy a Kinect and expect to play sitting on the couch thats just stupidity, and last but no least, I guess I my kinect and the "Barn with Stadium Lighting that I live in" and if you are going to say that all asians and eourpeans dont even have five feet of room in their house you are sadly mistaken.

One of the surprise hits of the Kinect launch is the virtual animal raising game, Kinectimals.  Kinectimals looks so cute and sweet it’ll probably give you diabetes, but it is hard not to have a huge goofy grin on your face for the whole time you play it.
Microsoft is trying to capture that perfect blend of simplicity, functionality, and accessibility with its own motion controlled sports game for Kinect, Kinect Sports.
Microsoft’s motion control device, Kinect, and Ubisoft’s exercise title Your Shape: Fitness Evolved is the next step in the videogame workout genre.
All of the fun of going to Disneyland without actually having to go there! Kinect Disneyland Adventures lets you fully explore a wonderfully modeled version of the full Disneyland park in California that is almost exactly like the real thing.
Just Dance 3 is a little simpler and easier than Dance Central 2, but thanks to a great song list and interface, and a focus on sort of goofy and funny dance moves, it is arguably more fun than DC2 since it isn’t so serious.
Dance Central 3 is easily the best dance game on Kinect.
Kinect actually has not one, but two great dance games.
