While some of these songs are a little "old" for young dancers, and some people dont think young ones "get" lyrical – Mark Wills’ "Dont Laugh At Me" does work for them cuz most kids can relate to being bugged at school.
Is it just me or do a few of these songs seem a bit old for younger kids (I’m considering this kids under 10)? Concrete Angel, although a meaningful and beautiful song, seems to be very sad and about wanting to die and child abuse.
All of these songs fabulous, i definetely think any disney song is good for kids 4-11.

I also once did this fantastic peice to some music from the movie, "Requium for a Dream" soundtrack.

All dance teachers have their own teaching techniques, but in order to learn new material we are forced to travel to expensive and distant conventions, take classes, and spend time we don’t have.
Dance Teacher Connect is an easy, inexpensive way to learn teaching techniques from other dance teachers.
I’m not typically a huge WF fan, but this song is light, happy and makes you want to dance.

Lennon combined childhood nostalgia (Strawberry Fields was a Salvation Army boys home with a wild garden in the back) and self-analysis of his state of mind for ‘Strawberry Fields Forever.’ He was in a depressed place at the time, filled with doubt (“I think I know, I mean, a-yes, but it’s all wrong”) and an inability to connect with others (“No one, I think, is in my tree”).
The U.S. civil rights movement inspired McCartney to write this acoustic number, found on side two of ‘The White Album.’ He wrote ‘Blackbird’ at his Scottish farm to express his support for black Americans struggling for equality in the states, particularly women (“bird” is British slang for "woman").
We don’t know a whole lot about the original words, other that that they could have been “Scrambled eggs, oh my baby how I love your legs.” It’s been suggested that McCartney was writing about his mother, who had died when he was 14.
10 on our list of the Top 10 Beatles Lyrics), ‘Let It Be’ was inspired by a dream McCartney had — this time as the Beatles began falling apart during ‘The White Album’ sessions.
John Lennon penned the lyrics about himself (not ‘Yellow Submarine”s Jeremy Hillary Boob, Ph.D), after a frustrating session in which was unable to come up with any good words for a song.
The significance of ‘Nowhere Man’ is that it’s the first Beatles song not written about love.
Lennon had a knack for stringing words together, even if they made little sense (see “I Am the Walrus,” “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds,” “Come Together,” etc.). But on ‘Across the Universe,’ his poetry paints a larger picture of wonderment — as if he’s watching the universe unfold in slow motion.
The song’s refrain — “Jai guru deva, om” — means (roughly) “victory to God divine” in Sanskrit and was likely inspired by the Beatles time in India in 1968.
This Summer of Love anthem was written (somewhat hastily) for the live ‘Our World’ satellite broadcast after the Beatles agreed to contribute a new song.

Produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation in Burbank, California, this unassuming stop-gap project grew to become a mythic phenomenon, setting record numbers for box-office sales and merchandising revenue around the world, and inspiring thousands of fans to build on its story with their own creativity.
A direct-to-video production by Walt Disney Television Animation, Simba’s Pride adds new characters and another chapter to the Circle of Life mythos begun in the original theatrical film.
A tribute to the grandeur of the original as much as it is a satire, this direct-to-video production (from Walt Disney TV Animation Australia) appeals to wistful nostalgia as much as to our funny bones.

Hiiipower was the first single released from Section.80. Kendrick used this track to create a definition of the Hiiipower movement that touched on the lifestyle of self-reflection and finding enlightenment.
Kendrick released his C4 mixtape in 2009 still under the name K.dot and added a bonus track by the name of “Young & Black.” The mixtape paid homage to Lil Wayne’s “The Carter III”, and “Young & Black” was a perfect addition to C4.
Hip-Hop heads have known for some time about the young spitter from Compton, California who once went by the name K.Dot. Now with the success with his debut album good kid, m.A.A.d. city, Kendrick has only added to a solid catalog that already includes Section.80 and Overly Dedicated.
Kendrick gives a description of the Recipe that attracts the world to California, and side by side with Dre this track is perfectly Cali in all its glory.
With a hook featuring a sample of Jay-Z’s “99 Problems” and produced by Sounwave, the track is a great foreshadowing of why K.Dot would soon evolve into the Kendrick Lamar we know today.
This track is found on the Kendrick Lamar EP, which was the first time we saw K.Dot become Kendrick Lamar.
The Recipe was the first single the world heard with Kendrick and Dre on the same track.
This was a message he wanted to hit so close to home, that Kendrick says he says he sat his eleven –year-old sister down to listen to his truths on this track.
Kendrick features Compton Veteran MC Eiht on this track, who complements Lamar’s picture of life in Compton perfectly.
Kendrick Lamar combined honesty in content, unorthodox rhyme schemes and an uncanny ear for beats to become the biggest hip-hop rookie of 2012.

Did you ever hear a lyric and be like, “Wait, what did they just say?” Shockingly, only about half of these are from Nicki Minaj.

Once they see that songwriters and performers develop themes in the music they enjoy, discovering those themes (and, of course, others) in literature new to them is simply not so difficult." As Evans discusses, the use of nonprint media aids students when they do need to read and respond to print media.
Jerome Evans states, "Artifacts of pop culture serve as advanced organizers for students, who can then connect new material (prominent and persistent themes in American literature) to their own experiences with literature (song lyrics).

There was his appearance on K Camp’s remix to the banger, “Cut Her Off” – while the North Memphis rookie Snootie Wild included him on his remix to “Made Me.” Perhaps the biggest remix move was the team up with heavy hitting producer, DJ Mustard for “ Face Down” where Boosie delivers bars and offers up the hook for the song.

The lyrics are about how he’s acing the shadows of death, despite all of his success, and he’s giving it to you in a way that makes it seem so real.
He’s at a hip-hop show and ices this girl who played him, then he’s in prison getting violated by some dude.
He’s just saying to his boys that he’s going to be a friend no matter how big he gets.
I’m recently divorced, so I feel what he’s saying.

Katzenberg bought more than 420,000 DreamWorks Animation stock options on September 29, the first trading day after the Softbank deal rumor surfaced, and immediately sold them.
Had DreamWorks Animation shares reached, or exceeded, the $32 Softbank was rumored to have offered — which is common when investors believe a deal is both real and imminent — Katzenberg could have sold his options for $13.5 million, profiting just under $1.7 million in the process.
