At $130, the 2DS offers a huge array of compelling and makes for a great entry-level gaming system to the uninitiated first-time gamer.
Despite some clever dual-screen gaming mechanics, the Wii U’s lack of compelling exclusive software and an overall unpolished user experience make it tough to recommend in its current state.
The Xbox 360 remains a great video and gaming console, but fans will be better served by older 360 bundles — or waiting for the Xbox One.
Now priced at $200, the Vita makes a compelling case as the ultimate indie portable console.
The PlayStation 4’s beautiful graphics, blazing interface, near-perfect controller, and lower price give it a slight edge on the Xbox One — for now.
Overall, the PlayStation Vita is the most advanced portable gaming system ever made.

With this you can kind of see how a lot of PS3 users aren’t that much of gamers.

The verdict: One of the changes made to the Xbox 360 ‘Slim’ is that arcade models now include a 4 GB SSD drive for data storage rather than requiring gamers to rely on memory units.
Ultimately, while the PS3 GPU shows higher general performance numbers, we’re inclined to give this category to the Xbox based on the peak performance of the eDRAM and the general versatility of this setup.
The Xbox’s Xenos card features more video RAM, but this RAM is shared with the console’s system RAM.
The verdict: Once again, the Xbox’s total amount of RAM is slightly misleading, as the system RAM and video RAM are shared.
Ever since the PlayStation 3 arrived on the market to challenge the Xbox 360 in 2006, gamers have argued about the merits of each system.
Interestingly, the new combined CPU/GPU chip used in the new Xbox 360 is theoretically faster than the individual chips in older models.
Users can upgrade the PS3’s hard drive with drives that have higher capacities and faster rpm speeds, while the Xbox only supports Microsoft’s proprietary HDD model.
This throwdown is based on the most recent versions of both consoles – the ‘Slim’ variations of both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, disregarding previous feature sets.

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3 consoles offer high-definition video performance and surround-sound audio.
Microsoft’s Xbox Live and Sony’s PlayStation Network offer players the opportunity to pit their skills against large numbers of online opponents.
The drive used in the PS3 is easily swapped for a higher-capacity unit, but the only method of increasing hard drive space on an Xbox 360 is to purchase another console at comparatively higher cost.
Although larger games primarily benefit from Blu-ray’s capacity in terms of using fewer discs, some Blu-ray movie and game titles offer uncompressed audio and 1080p HD video.
The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 both offer heavy-duty gaming performance.
A key feature of the Xbox 360’s iteration of online gaming is party chat, where a group can join up in one game and stay together throughout the evening.
The current Xbox 360 console offers limited support for older original Xbox titles.

I owned both systems but my preference is 360 over ps3.for those talking about "oh you have to pay for online" or "which one doesnt have blueray",cmon.50 dollars a year is not much.thats 1/4 of a workdays pay.not a big deal if you have a job.the blueray?i bought one for 60 bucks.dont need a ps3 for that.less lag,in my opinion better games and exclusives, bigger online community, better feel, can use my controller to play pc games and emulators,i know 360 is the better deal.graphics doesnt make a shitty game better.and a hell of alot less lag.if I was jealous of the ps3 users,i would have used the same money I did to buy my xbox on the ps3.ive had it for three years with no breakdowns.maybe it depends on how long you play in a day.and updates?my xbox updates in a few seconds.my internet runs at 40 mb per second.xbox does have less lag cause the processor is better.but if your offline they do about the same.there is a difference in both consoles.it just depends on what you prefer.
I have a Xbox, the piece shit always sounded like a running car,it would always scratch my disc,i don’t spend 60 dollars for my games to get messed up.I would have to keep buying a new xbox when it would burn out,and for people saying that "its because your cheap because you don’t want to buy a new Xbox or pay for online, your poor"it’s not there faults there not fucking stupid like you idiots to fall for the shit microsoft is pulling on you.Why would you buy a system to have it shit out on you,why would you pay for xbox live when all you need for ps3 is wifi, half of you guys have your parents pay for your Xbox live anyways so you shouldn’t be talking shit, who pays 12 bucks for something that works just the same as Ps3 online that just makes you stupid you want a good Internet connection get some xfinity dumb asses talk about poor, and who ever said its worth it to pay to pay 12 dollars for live because it’s better, that’s bullshit I have a Xbox and a ps3 and there was nothing better about live because ps3 wifi works just the same if not better.you can’t say xbox has better graphics then ps3 because some games look better on Xbox some look better on Ps3 you can’t compare graphics Xbox is going to win some comparisons and Ps3 is going to win some comparisons.Ps3 for squeaky kids on there mics but Xbox is for bitches who end up living with there moms until there 40 that’s why I don’t use mine no more.I use my xbox elite as a coaster for my drinks.i would have sold it but i would feel bad for the guy who probably would have bought it.i rather buy a nintendo 64 then a Xbox.

i own both and enjoy playing both there both good in there own ways if you like playing online then get an xbox ok you have to pay a little over a £1 a week WOW thats gunna leave you bankrupt lol but you definatley get what you pay for xbox live is way better than PSN in terms of getting things 1st a better service a lot more local people online a lot more people talk on xbox than ps3 but PS3 controller is better than xbox a lot lighter you dont need batteries you drop the xbox controller a few times the part that holds the batteries comes loose then everytime you knock the controller it turns off which is annoying when playing COD or FIFA online ofcourse then theres the blu ray on ps3 but as for the graphics you really cant tell the differance ignore anyone who says they can ps3 is quiter and has built in wireless BUT xbox newer models also have these advantages now so… both have really good games.
and ive been pwnin noobs online for free with a headset mic tht doesnt run off the controller that runs off a battery pack (XBOX) and it doesnt have to recharge cause i just play and charge it at the same time and i it! i dont have to waste money just to go online or batteries for the controller, money that i can put towards games! and xbox is made by microsoft who make computers which get mods and hacks for games! i think ive cleared up which is more reliant AND price effective in the long run.
ive had shitbox from 2006 to 2011,and i am not paying microshit for shitbox number 4.besides,with cross platform games finally being better on ps3(BF3,mass effect series,)the only reason for having a shitbox is Halo and Gears series.otherwise, its just a poorly made pos money pit.plus you have to pay so they can cram endless advertisements up our asses.thanks a bunch.my xbox handle is FistyMcFists,my spartan number is 117.no,not 0117,or 1170,its fn 117 suckers, because i was the first to think of it.for the rest of you retarded shitbox fanboys,if you cant see how badly microsoft rips off its clients,GOOD! stay with shitbox, you deserve each other.and please,go to ign.com to learn how ps3 has taken the lead in sales for the first time.the shitbox is toast shitfans, from now on xbox cant compete with ps3 anymore, even bioware knows whats up,the made a whole new engine for ps3 mass effect,no one expected bioware to bring a series that was thought tobe xbox only, but bioware knew where the money is,not to mention the more powerfull ps3 hardware that allowed them to improve their vision of what mass effect should be.just turn off the film grain in the options, makes the graphics sub par,and also drains the frame rate.what we are starting to see is anything being made on shitbox is better on ps3.compare bf3 for yourselves.
I have played the 360 since I was 7 I am now 15 and I love it good controller and personally I think playstation is shit its wierd like the controller is like a oldstyle supernintendo controller so light weight breaks easy too small weak plastic and xbox controller is perfect light weight but not too light buttons dont feel funny I like the letters than shapes also my xbox has lasted 8 years now and now I bought a gears of war limited edition console 320 gigabytes I luv it really quiet lots of memory playes disks easy and downloads quick and now my friend bought a playstation fucking idiot I got his xbox from him free I fixed it with cleaning the motherboard and applying new thermal paste thats how easy it is I made myself a new xbox so now I got three xbox 360s one is my gears slim I hate gears I mean its ok but im more of a call of duty fan but the modern warfare three console was like 500 and the gears 3 was 400 the only diferance was the paint and gears looked cooler I played gears 1 I liked it but not as much as call of duty I am impressed with Microsoft and anyone who has a computer and likes playstation shut your mouth cause every computer except apple has Microsoft windows XP or window 8 MADE BY MICROSOFT SO SHUT THE FUCK UP …… !!! So windows phones too same thing shut up Microsoft is ussually a main computer program so ya im a proud too represent Microsoft (Xbox 360) for 13 years so playstation now lets get gaming.
Really as you said it depends because they’re both good consoles but in my eyes xbox is slightly better then play station because; Xbox have better graphics for online and yh we might have to pay for online but we won’t get as many annoying kids as ps3 do, on the other hand pplay station/sony made a huge mistake by not making ps2 games compatible with ps3: I had a ps2 and over 40 games with it so that’s when I decided to go over to xbox.
@anonymous: i have to admit the disc tray on xbox sucks but thats because microsoft isnt that good at making electronics he mostly just power network and shit thats why they should hire a different crew to make the system but sony makes all kinds of electronics and there good at it but the network sucks ass the only reason why ps3 gets free online is cuz its makking up for how fuking shitty it is dick fuck and same with the blueray reader thats cuz ps3 sucks dick.
Pros: Better Software, Better Hardware such as Storage space at the max 500GB hard drive vs 120GB, Better Reliability, Blue-Ray, Best Exclusive Games, Many different features possibly not know about such as video editing, Free online, More compatible with technology such as any Bluetooth headset can be used as a mic, Playstation Plus equals the same price as Live but instead of only letting you access online like Xbox Live does you get discounts on games, free games, cloud storage and more, More Control over your system, Lighter controllers.
I have played all 3 (ps3, xbox and PC) i own a gaming PC and ps3 but have friends who own an xbox and although i love Halo wars ps3 has taken my heart, reliability, specs, exclusive games and free online and to all those narrow minded people who say xbox is better because CoD is better on it, i say to them, CoD is only 1 game in over 1million.
@anonymous: Its funny because whenever i used to get into an online game of halo i used to be spammed with 11 year olds telling me i suck at driving my mongoose… Well Whether you say ps3 is for loners of not… i bought myself one and the exclusive games for it are much more enjoyable than halo….. uncharted, ratchet and clank, nino kuni all amazing games that xbox doesnt have.
I have both and here is what I can say, PS3 is less clunky, even less clunkier that the Xbox SLIM, Equal graphics, PS3 has free to play online, avatars are better on Xbox, PS3 discs have more data (which is why MGS4 is a PS3 exclusive), the hard drive is built-in on the PS3 and comes with it, WI-Fi is in-built on all versions of PS3, Xbox has cooler game box design, Before PS3 had better menus now with the Xbox’s recent updates menus are cooler, earlier games had more DLC for Xbox, now it’s the opposite, PS3 is No.
they both play video games who gives a shit about the controller or if the grass looks fucking better in one game or another?! i have the xbox 360 and if i had a ps3 i wouldnt care theyre both perfectly good game consoles if they suck ass as so many ppl seem to think just caz they have the opposite console and this isnt for everyone but you all should just give your opinion and not shove your head so far up your ass that you cant realize that if they sucked they wouldnt BOTH be popular world wide.
All i have to say i Ps4 And gaikai 🙂 Lets be honest here if xbox had uncharted and we had halo i guarantee both sides would go uncharted sucks halos better or the other way around I love my playstation and for people who love their xbox then thats your choice game consoles are for fun games that you can play for hours on end.

Keep in mind that this list only includes future console-specific exclusives that could realistically come out by the end of this calendar year, so don’t get your undies in a bunch when you don’t see the likes of Dishonored (which is multi-console), 2 (same), The Last of Us (which is coming in 2013), or any other hotly-anticipated title on this list.
Developed by United Front Games—the folks behind 2010 kart racer ModNation Racers—and longtime series dev Media Molecule, LBP Karting follows in its platforming predecessors’ footsteps by having a strong focus on user-generated content.
SuperBot’s crossover fighter features the largest collection of Sony characters ever found in a game, with such stars as Nathan Drake, Kratos, Sly Cooper, Cole MacGrath, and many more all on the confirmed roster.
Go to any gaming-related website on the web and chances are you won’t need more than a few minutes to find throngs of grammar-challenged gladiators defending some group of billionaires for no other reason than to justify their purchases to complete strangers.
UFG and Media Molecule have strongly opposed the common complaint that LBP Karting is a simple cash-in, stating that the game will run on a brand new engine in an all-new world, with plenty of new modes for Sackboy and friends to toy around with.

It also means there’s more room per disc for PS3 titles over Xbox 360 titles, allowing for somewhat noticeable improvements in graphics on PS3 versions of many games, and – perhaps even more importantly – allowing each title to fit on one disc.
If you still don’t have a current generation video game console, you may want to consider the PlayStation 3 over the Xbox 360.
There’s a plethora of new Kinect titles, and very few top-notch new Xbox 360 exclusives hitting the market these days.
but this time around, I’d worry more about Microsoft and Xbox 360 developers paying too much attention to a device that’s only half-ready, neglecting non-motion-controller games in the process.
As Paul Tassi notes, if you’re paying for Xbox Live it’s not like you get a discount on Netflix or Hulu or any other app.
When it comes to console gaming, it’s close to a toss-up between Sony‘s PlayStation 3 and Microsoft‘s Xbox 360.
Forbes’s David Ewalt had a great story recently on Microsoft’s success with the Xbox 360, and there’s reason to believe this success will continue, at least in North America, with its next-gen successor.
I own Dark Souls on Xbox 360, and in the middle of a serious boss fight (Smough and Ornstein) my controller died.
Looking at just this generation hardware, assuming you’re still in the market for a new console, should you buy a PS3 or an Xbox 360? I have both, and both are great machines, but in the end the PS3 is the better buy.
Sure, sometimes the PSN goes down or is taken down by hackers, a problem Microsoft has done a better job avoiding, but Xbox Live Gold will cost you $50 a year.
Other exclusives include the LittleBigPlanet franchise, including the upcoming Karting installment, as well as PSN games like The Unfinished Swan, which is one of the most intriguing looking titles I’ve seen in a while.
I imagine a future generation of Kinect may be a good selling point for the Xbox 360/720/etc.

PlayStation Network has the advantage here because you can enjoy most of the features without paying for the premium membership (which still offers bonuses like free games and discounts), while Xbox Live still requires a Gold membership to play online and watch streaming services.
As the commercial says, "You are the controller." Motion-controlled gaming hasn’t taken off like Microsoft or Sony hoped, and while the Kinect still has some momentum with games like Star Wars Kinect, it’s not the main reason you should get an Xbox 360.
Both Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network are rich complementary Web-based services with loads of multimedia, matchmaking (as in finding you a viable game opponent, not necessarily a life partner), and streaming media features—and they’re both very similar.

On general basis, Watch Dogs employs bloom effects and good texture resolutions on all the platforms, making the game look excellent on the older generation of consoles.
“The PS3 and the Xbox 360 manage to run the game consistently at 30fps with an occasional few hitches and frame rate drops but they aren’t much and do not affect the gameplay much.
The PS3 and the Xbox 360 manage to run the game consistently at 30fps with an occasional few hitches and frame rate drops but they aren’t much and do not affect the gameplay much.

There’s nothing wrong with the PS3 controller, of course, but I find the layout and grip on the Xbox 360 controller is a tiny bit more intuitive, though it’s quite possible that children and people with smaller hands might prefer the slightly more compact offering from Sony.
It’s true that the PlayStation Network is free and that you’ll need to pay to access online features with Xbox Live.
Meanwhile, even though the Killzone games on PS3 are decent shooters, there’s just not anything equivalent to the big dogs on Xbox 360 for gamers with a penchant for shooting at one another.
Looking for a video game console for that special someone this Holiday season? You might want to consider the Xbox 360 over the PS3—here’s why.
The thumbsticks also respond with more accuracy than those on Sony’s DualShock controller, making the Xbox 360 a far better fit for anything that requires pinpoint precision, such as first-person shooters.
No network is going to be perfectly secure, of course, but Xbox Live has never seen a month-long hack in which tens of millions of users were affected.
While Xbox has never made a huge splash overseas, it manages to appeal to American gamers, and certainly makes the choice here, for online gamers especially, a no-brainer.
Xbox Live remains a more secure platform than the PSN, subject to far fewer hacks and other problems.
But if you’re a fan of shooters, Xbox 360 is the only place to go for the Halo franchise, or the Gears of War games.
Likewise, even cross-platform shooters will have a more robust online community on Xbox Live than PS3.
And while the paid PlayStation Plus service is certainly a great value, the fact remains that if you have security concerns the Xbox 360 is the better of the two.

Yep, Sony has its own subscription service, and rather than holding a basic gaming right to ransom like Xbox 360’s Gold membership, it showers you with free games and cloud saves.
There was that one extremely high-profile intrusion perpetrated by lovers of Lulz that we won’t talk about or they’ll DDoS my Quantum Leap fan fiction blog… But even in the midst of a Global PR nightmare, Sony came up trumps and gave you two free games from a list of four that included Infamous and LittleBigPlanet to say sorry.
It’s been a miraculous turnaround for PlayStation 3, and Sony’s carrying a tremendous amount of that momentum into generation eight, where it appears to have the same kind of advantage Xbox did back in December 2005.
But incredibly, Sony turned that less-than-desirable start to its advantage, and as we stand on the precipice between seventh and eighth generation consoles and take stock of the last six years, any fool can see PlayStation 3 ends the era victorious.
Microsoft had an open goal in the early days of this generation, and PlayStation 3 cunningly built a wall of fantastic first-party titles in front of that goal in the six years that followed.
Sony’s first-party releases this year alone include Naughty Dog’s award-winning, critically beloved The Last Of Us, David Cage’s ambitious and technically impressive Beyond: Two Souls, and Sony Santa Monica’s gorgeous God of War: Ascension.
Yes, let’s touch base with each console’s respective games library, because it’s here, particularly in first-party titles, that Sony really turned the tide over the past six years.
In fact, PlayStation 3’s still selling so well in its twilight that there’s a genuine chance it can surpass the Wii’s 100 million mark and enter the books as this generation’s biggest seller hands down (let’s be clear: no-one is buying Wiis anymore).

While it allows you to download content for games and access the Xbox Live Marketplace, you can’t play online.
Winner: If you plan to play online, the 360’s Xbox Live membership can get pricey after a few years.
Simply put, Xbox makes you pay to play while PlayStation offers online gaming free.
Winner: PS3. While "Halo" is one of the most popular games out there, most of the Xbox exclusives are smaller games limited to the Xbox LIVE arcade.
However, if you want to add a few games and a wireless controller, or are looking for a bigger storage system, the console can price up to $299.
Though the initial price point of the PS3 deterred consumers, in the long run, the system makes up for its costs by allowing a free online network.
It’s voice activated commands allow us to seamlessly navigate Xbox Live or any app without a controller.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 was perhaps the first game, that was announced simultaneously for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and when it comes to parity between both platforms, it seemed like the Xbox 360 held pretty well on its own and had next to none in term of graphical difference.
Now that we have gotten the last part in the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy, it is interesting to see that Square Enix has finally mastered both platforms and created a version that is well made on either platform.
Lightning Returns Final Fantasy XIII has been out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for a while now in Japan.

U think yourself why a game like call of duty ghost is emphasizing so much on upgradation process of ps3 to ps4,because they knew people will wait for ps4 and buy that one with superior gameplay n graphics and that is one of reason of their lackluster sales, one reason is also their are equally or better alternatives available to the title of COD and the most obvious reason they are releasing too many title every year a title but GTA 5 (who’s version is releasing after 5 years ,Which has literally no competitor, votever it makes becomes the benchmark of its own) flip the table buy not saying anything about the release of GTA 5 for the nxt gen consoles,so that they can suck maximum profit from current generation and then release the game after sometime on the nxt gen to double it.
In an article published about a week and a half ago ‘xbox 1 will feel more powerful’, I recall someone claiming that Halo 4 looks better than The Last of Us, I would have to disagree on that, the two games pursue completely different artistic directions, I don’t personally think its correct to compare a game whose characters are encased in shiny metal to one that tries to depict real people.
What? “Overall, visual quality is slightly higher on the PS3, due to the Xbox’s texture streaming issues.” I saw several instances where Xbox was better in the video and several where PlayStation is better (5:14).
“It isn’t clear why running the game from the Play disc is faster than having it installed on the hard drive” Surely it’s because if you read data from 2 sources then you can get a fair amount more bandwidth than reading all the data from one(Even if one of those source is much slower than the other).
As for this article, it seems to have been written by an Xbox fanboy, as quite a few times some critical points against the Xbox version are glossed over, and the difference on GTA IV version between the PS3 and X360 versions dramtically over exaggerated.
Xbox 360 version has lower fresh tree textures and other textures, but it isn’t a graphical glitch, they had to increase blopping to help performance, however, it makes some textures stand out and look horribly ugly.
Better hardware is a bonus but it’s not totally guarenteed that will matter, having kinect with every console might give the Xbox some more interesting and industry changing games.
It isn’t clear why running the game from the Play disc is faster than having it installed on the hard drive, but it’s probably just down to the game’s programming being optimized for optical drive data rates, rather than reading data from the hard drive.
Unlike GTA 4, where there was a huge difference between the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, both consoles register almost identical graphics quality in GTA 5.

If you have pre-ordered the standard retail edition through the Microsoft Store, the company will send you a $10 Xbox card and guarantees timely delivery.
The Guardian Edition is available in digital format for PS3, PS4 and Xbox One only and includes starter content available in-game.
The Limited Edition for PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 sells for $100 and includes upgraded packaging, a few in-game items, a star chart and a guide.
After unpacking and the game pulling down additional launch timeframe data, it could take about 40 GB of space total for both the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
The versions for PlayStation consoles will have exclusive content such as a multiplayer map, cooperative missions, three ships, two weapons and class-specific gear.
After recently watching Brooklyn-based, Venezuelan-born, singer, dancer, artist and storyteller, Migguel Anggelo perform "Between Dreams / Entre Sueños" to a sold-out crowd at Joe’s Pub at the Public in New York, I was reminded of how life can imitate art and art can imitate life.
Sony is selling the white PS4 edition for $450 bundled with the game as well as several PlayStation exclusive in-game bonuses.

The video also reveals something pointed out in the article but not made readily apparent: The Xbox 360 has a horrible vertical synch issue in some of the more heavier sequences, as the system struggles to maintain a consistent refresh rate that results in periodic screen-tearing.
As pointed out by Digital Foundry, the Wii U has a slightly more washed-out color tone compared to the 360, which might seem kind of strange given the Wii U’s focus on high-saturation in most of the exclusive games, especially games like The Wonderful 101 or the upcoming Splatoon.
Digital Foundry rolled out a detailed comparison between the original Bayonetta on the Xbox 360 and PS3, versus the one ported to the Wii U that came free with the purchase of Bayonetta 2.
But Platinum Games had contracted Bee Tribe Digital Studio to help with the Wii U port, so maybe adjusting the colors helped with the overall visual clarity? It was something that Linneman noted in the article.

Watch Dogs is out on both current and last gen systems—and while all versions of the game play the same, each version looks slightly different.
It’s also worth keeping in mind that the PC graphics shown here are on ultra, which can differ from what the game looks like on low.
Overall, as you might expect, the current generation looks the best—but the game still looks great on the PS3 and 360.

That awesome black and sleek design, is what the new xbox has WITH an accessible hard drive AND its touch on power.
XBOX have better online system but you have to pay for it.PS3 have better exclusive games and better graphics.
PS: comparing a ps3 graphics to a xbox, doesnt work if the xbox is hooked to a standard definition tv while the ps3 is hooked to a HDTV.
LOL AT THIS QUESTION! the xbox multiplayer is better than the ps3's (because you pay for it it better be better and maintained better) however just about every other aspect of the ps3 is better, minus the harddrive not being accessible.
And to clear up anything about Anonymous stealing credit card info on psn and thinking it couldnt happen to XBOX your 150% wrong.
The Xbox got all the awesome games and everyone seems to gravitate to the Xbox, if you're planning to buy one if the two I would advise you to get the Xbox.
Any question that asks ps3 vs Xbox will equal a console war, fans of ps3 with praise ps3 and put down Xbox.
Honestly I feel PS3 only has better graphics but xbox isnt bad graphics by any means.
FFS they made the governments homepage a game of asteroids! if anon wanted xbox to be down for a month like ps3 it could be done in less then a day.
And xbox do not "up and go" every year only the old arcades and elites do, just as the old ps3 does.
Spec wise, Xbox has better GPU while ps3 has the powerful cell broadband engine.
If you want to go by accessability, Xbox live is probably better than the PS3 alternative.
Fans of Xbox will praise Xbox and put down ps3.

NPD’s numbers that “nearly 50 percent more online console gamers use Xbox 360 for playing games online than PlayStation 3.” The findings are somewhat interesting considering that the PS3 surpassed the Xbox 360 in worldwide sales earlier this year and both sit very close in terms of lifetime unit sales.
On the next-gen consoles, both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will require paid subscriptions in order for players to play online, free-to-play titles being the exceptions.
Gamespot also reports that the online numbers are growing even as console sales slow down, as both Microsoft and Sony push more online features, and aim to get players comfortable with “cloud” services on their upcoming next-gen consoles.
“Microsoft said in the past 12 months, the company has delivered more than 20 billion hours of online gaming and entertainment through Xbox 360.
Despite the costs to players however, American gamers generally prefer the Xbox 360 over the PS3 when playing online, according to the NPD Group’s 2013 Online Gaming report.
Many contributing factors can help explain the significant difference in online player activity between the systems in addition to the obvious fact that there are more Xbox 360s in North America.
I suspect the online service for Xbox will remain somewhat ahead as long as they maintain the kind of user-intuitive design they have always had while integrating some of their new, appealing features seamlessly.

I hate when people talk about games that are coming in the future..When Xbox already has a technically graphically superior game to show off graphics "RYSE" and the most Stable game at 1080P 60FPS "Forza 5" a feat that did not require any trikery to make it seem 1080P or once in while dip into the mid 40's like all the PS4 games so far.

Fight Night Round 3 was one of the first games to really show off the Xbox 360’s graphics power with fantastic lighting and incredibly detailed player models.
Xbox 360 Versus PlayStation 3 Graphics Comparison Forget spec comparisons.
Let's advance the Xbox 360 versus PlayStation 3 graphics debate to screenshots now that the games are here.
We expected the PlayStation 3 to ship with several games that first appeared on the Xbox 360, similar to how the Xbox 360 had a lot of Xbox ports at launch.
You’d think that the PS3 versions would be exactly the same or slightly superior to the Xbox 360 versions, since many of these games appeared on the 360 months ago, but it seems like developers didn’t use the extra time to polish up the graphics for the PS3.

PS3 live most likely wont have those things for awhile and in the long run I doubt will be able to compete the Xbox live due to the fact it has already been up and running for 4 years and Playstation will be hard pressed to catch up, but like I said its free and wireless.
The PS3 is with out a doubt the more powerful of the two systems in terms of hardware in the fact that it has a huge 60 GB memory and better graphical capabilities, but even though it has better graphical capabilities it will be harder to developed games for the PS3 than for the 360 so only time will tell if this will make a difference or not. As of right now most critics agree that graphically the 360 is slightly better but keep in mind the PS3 has just gotten off the ground so its hard to make a full estimate.
Grand Theft Auto previously a Playstation exclusive will come out for both at the same time, Resident Evil 5 comes out for both at the same time, several games both long running franchises and highly anticipated new franchises will all be found on both consoles for the most part coming out on the same dates.

“In terms of which console version to buy, there’s no clear winner here – they’re both good games, but each has its strengths and weaknesses.
You can stomp your feet all you want at eurogamer & beyond 3D about KZ2 saying you’re not “fooled” by post-processing (apparently the industry was fooled hence the across the board tech praise and 91 meta) and its clearly not the console industry’s best as if GG is performing some taboo trick that other developers avoid….
Mark, the thing is that 3rd party developers shouldn’t have to keep wasting their time, money, & resources just to make PS3 versions of games on par with the 360 versions (or even better than the 360 versions, for that matter).
In the Eurogamer article he directly says “Objectively: it’s a tie.” He says it is crisper, cleaner graphics, higher frame rate on xbox 360 – no screen tear and video capture on ps3.
The irony of this is that in the last generation sony had the weaker hardware but more software whereas Microsoft had more power in the xbox, but fewer games, and Sony won the console war for that generation.
It’s a handy time saver for when I’m trying to decide which platform to get a game on, (although I do still check out the various articles and videos).
If you care at all about exclusive games, get a PS3 and you’ll *still* be able to play every game on this list.
Stop buying games from developers who are assuming you’ll buy the game even if they didn’t put any genuine effort into make it the best it could be on your PS3.
I try to buy games based on the optimum console for any given game.

From Pixel Junk Monsters, Flow, EveryDay Shooter, The Last Guy, and LocoRoco Cocoreccho!, to software that’s more like interactive art than games, such as Tori-Emaki, Flower, and Linger in Shadows, there are simply odd and wonderful things that exist on the PS3 that don’t on the other systems.
Much like the Xbox Live Achievement system, the PS3 has a Trophies system that allows you to earn awards as you play games and compare how you’ve done against other players.
Want to play games online? That will require you to purchase an Xbox Live Gold Membership.
Want to download new games and video for your console? While it is no problem for the PS3, but you may have to purchase additional storage for some Xbox 360s and Wiis if you plan to download much of anything.
Want to get online using your WiFi network? On the Xbox 360, that will require a $100 dollar wireless upgrade kit while on the PS3 and the Wii wireless networking is built in, though the Wii requires you to buy their web browser.
While I like and own all three systems, I believe there are five things that make the PS3 the best next-generation videogame system to have, over the Xbox 360 or the Wii.
The PS3 also offers a unique and free virtual world called Home, where you can chat, hang out and play games with other PS3 owners.
