scary things to do

1. My co-worker’s four year old daughter always thought that the rattling of the water pipes in the kitchen cupboards were ‘white wolves’ and the sound always scared her.
A Reddit user asked people on the social media website to share stories of the creepiest things their kids have ever said.
7. Just a couple of months ago, my two-year-old daughter and I were in her darkened bedroom as she was getting ready to sleep.
A couple years back there was a fright factory thingy nearby Pier 23 – they set up a couple mazes in a warehouse w/zombies and creepy rooms – that was pretty cool.
I've never really gone out to a Halloween "party", so I wanted to throw out the question to the more experienced Halloweeners.
I'd been wondering about that Pier 23 thing Cindy…so it was pretty cool? I'd like to do that.

How many scary stories take place in the woods? Any time a character enters a dark forest, you know something terrible is about to happen.
Remember, the dark seems more intense in the woods where there are no lights or other people.
You know these stories, but have you read them? The old fashioned language gives these novels a Gothic and dark flavor.
Murder in the Dark is the probably the most fun game to play at night.
Dark caverns, bats, eerie sounds, echoes, being below the surface–what could be a spookier place.
We like the spooky feeling of being in the dark or hearing about the supernatural.
Kids to hear ghost stories and get goosebumps and jump at the parts that go "BOO!" Grab some youngster friendly books and read them aloud till you get the shivers.
The classic stories of ghostly pirates, dark rooms, and haunted graveyards.
But if I’ve learned anything from a year of doing scary things every day, it’s that even though things rarely go as you imagined it, they can be just as good or more often, better.
I’d only been doing SYED for a couple of months at that point and it was the first email that really talked about a personal connection to the blog.
With the blog coming to an end, I’ve been thinking about how SYED started as this very personal thing and has since turned into more of a community exprience.
I went rafting with my sister and survived getting stranded on the river for a while (For the record, rivers are very fast the day after a hurricane.). Some things were smaller, like trying a newflavor every time I got ice cream or getting a new hairstyle for the first time since I was about five.
While I like to think it was to support the blog, I think it’s more likely they just wanted to see me launched off the bull into the night time sky.
But I’m going to keep writing in my blog and I’ll hope you’ll continue to follow me.
When I first read it I thought the same old “Oh, he’s so great, why can’t I be like him and do scary things?” But when I actually thought about it, there was nothing keeping me from doing just that.

A couple of times we had to barricade the front door against hordes of junkies, like something out of the Helms Deep [2] scenes in the Lord of the Rings films [3]…waves after waves of them (in pursuit of prescription pads apparently).
It is all landscaped [public] gardens now but I got precisely the same feeling, exactly and engineered a reason to get my kids out of there so quickly that my mother noticed and took note (she told me later that I had been very rude).
To be very clear: I was not on my own but with 3 other friends (we all did it to be 'daring' ) and I don't believe the legends in the citation below however to this day I remember the clear feeling that there was "death in the ground".

When I was 18 my friends and I would go to the local airport and park as close as we could to the end of the runway at night,  We would climb over the fence and walk all the way to the runway.
We would lie down in the grass at the very edge of the runway and wait for a plane to land.  You could see the plane coming a long way off.  The anticipation was killer.
the reason for the candle is that if it goes out it means the midnight man is nearby, you only have 10 second to relight the candle, if you can't do that, then quickly make a circle around yourself with the salt… but if you can't do that…. they say the midnight man makes you go through this terrible hallucination where you experience all of you worst, deepest fears, some aren't affected in the long run by it, most are somehow mentally scarred, but there's an unlucky few that have died from the midnight man's attacks.
Oh a few other things, if you do have to do the salt circle thing, you cannot leave it for any reason until the end, you just have to sit inside it, also a couple other ways to detect the Midnight Man, is strange whispering, and a pure black outline of a man in the darkness.
1-Find out Victoria's Secret 2-Goto a public place & go around asking people what they would do for a Klondike bar 3-Play doom II on Nightmare 4-Get hit in the crotch by the Hulk 5-Go down town, walk around in a white shirt w/ a target painted on it & scream the "N" word continuasly 6-When you die, you figure out that God WAS real & the there IS a hell.
I forget exactly how you start it, but basically you summon this thing into your house called "The Midnight Man" and you have to walk around the house with no lights on the only things you can have are a lit candle, something to light the candle, and salt.
The object of the game is to make it to 3:33 with a lit candle, the ones in the salt circles are second up, and finally, the midnight man's victims are last.
And of course, in order to really understand how to withstand the scary things life throws at us, you have to get to the bottom of why you think it’s scary.
Riding out the uncomfortable and the scary until you’re stronger and things aren’t as scary anymore.
Why it gets under you skin, why it terrifies you, why it dregs up memories of all the other times you faced scary things and didn’t come out stronger on the other side.
The things we let fester, the dreams we never pursue, the chances we don’t take, the places we never move to, the people we don’t admit to loving, the jobs we never apply for.
There’s a whole host of reasons, really, and each will vary from person to person, but I think one of the things that connects this fear we all experience isn’t all that unique.
You begin to withstand the scary things, the things you never thought you were capable of.
(If I had a dollar for every instructor who barked this over a booming bass, I swear, my gym membership would pay for itself.) And it’s true — not just in the biological sense that your body responds to harder work by adapting and becoming stronger, but because your mind becomes stronger, too.
Being afraid is supposed to be uncomfortable — it lights that metaphorical fire under your butt in order to tell you to work towards being more comfortable.
I want you to start meeting new people and approaching strangers.
Have you met anyone new lately? I dare you to get into the habit of approaching strangers that you’re attracted to.
I want you to conquer a few of your fears and do something scary within the next 30 days or else I have failed as a motivator, blogger, or whatever you want to call me.
It’s from a trip to Cancun that I went on with a group of people that I barely know (guys and girls).
It’s important to get into the habit of pushing past that painful point.
You have to get into the habit of overcoming the painful point and seeing what’s on the other side.
The intent is not to harm the bear, but to scare it from the area and restore its natural fear of people by providing a negative experience.
If you are in a developed area (e.g., campground, parking lot, lodging area) or if a bear approaches you, act immediately to scare it away: make as much noise as possible by yelling very loudly (don’t worry about waking people up if it’s nighttime).
There are a disturbing amount of "gore" type videos that depict mutilations, murders, and the like.  I am adding these to this list, because it is certainly frightening to think of what some humans are capable of doing.  These videos aren’t really the type of scary stuff that this page is focused on, but if we’re talking about the scariest things on the internet, this list wouldn’t be complete without them.
Not only is it scary regardless of it being actual footage, it's inhumane to watch a real video of someone commiting suicide.
Wearing a costume also gives you the added bonus of planning what you are going to wear — which for me just adds to the magic! And, in case you’re wondering, you’re never too old to enjoy Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
While it’s not required that you wear a costume, it sure adds to my enjoyment, because my favorite part of the night is taking in all of the elaborate costumes! And since this is the one event of the year where you are allowed to wear a costume at Magic Kingdom, I, for one, like to take advantage of it.
While the party officially starts at 7 p.m., guests can begin entering the park as early as 4 p.m. We highly recommend you get to the park early, so you can spend as much time in Magic Kingdom as possible.
PREVIOUS: We can hardly contain ourselves — it’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party time! The party started even earlier this year on Sept.
As we’ve mentioned a time or too, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is one of the Frog Family’s absolute favorite events! For those of you who love Halloween, it is definitely not to be missed.
Leap’s favorite part of the party is meeting all of the characters who are greeting guests in different locations.
The party officially begins at 7 p.m. inside the Magic Kingdom, although party guests are welcome to enter the park starting at 4 p.m., which we do recommend (see tip no.
For the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2014, Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope will be joining the parade.
You can also purchase souvenir bags that do the trick! Trick-or-treating is Lily’s favorite part of the party, but she loves saying "trick-or-treat" as much as she loves the candy.
Tad’s favorite part of the party is watching Mickey’s "Boo-to-You" Parade.
Whether she took them or threw them away, I’m not sure…but it was a little heartbreaking to have lost these things that I’ve spent so much time working on.
I’m not good at ordering people around– if it’s in my capacity, I’ll just end up doing it myself to avoid ordering someone around.
But how would I accomplish this if I don’t get rid of the voice in the back of my head telling me I don’t “know people enough” to add them? This would limit so many new connections! It doesn’t hurt anyone for me to add them, but it hurts me if I don’t add them.
As a result, work has been piling up like there’s no tomorrow and although I get them done, it’s taken a toll on my health (and time to myself).
I don’t mind the Lakers, frankly, but I figured it’s best to stand by who you truly are, even when it’s small things like this.
My god! It’s amazing how much I learned from his run down of how college sports works! He gave me an entire history from the change of the NCAA from the 1960’s, how football makes money, how he recruits students, the loopholes and problems of a college sports career…it was amazing how a lot of the problems of this industry were applicable in all different parts of the education system.
14 Slam down on the gas pedal on an empty road/Dance down my driveway “like no one’s watching”/ don’t check my work e-mail all weekend.
I’ve been a long time fan of data artist Aaron Koblin.
Each time I got my camera out to take a photo, an actor would rush up to me and say, "in character", something along the lines of: "YOU THERE! PEASANT BOY! PUT DOWN THAT THERE FLASHY BOX!" which, through a combination of second- and first-hand embarrassment, made me not want to get my camera out in any situation where I thought I might be seen.
Personally, I thought the movie was kinda "meh", and assumed Kevin would feel the same way, until I heard him say "Oh.My.God" and looked over to see him wide-eyed and gripping the armrests of his seat with his fingernails.
At one point, Kevin turned to me and said: "Jamie, which way is up? I haven't been able to tell since my chair started moving".
It started with a guy in zombie makeup groaning, "Follow me… to hell!" at us before we were lead through a door marked "Welcome to Area 51", where a mad professor informed us that we were in a mental hospital and several of the inmates had escaped, so we had to go on a quest to "find the cure to the disease".

He also seemed excited at the prospect of "seeing Katie Holmes' face really, really big", stating: "she has the kind of face that would lend itself well to being really big, I think".
It started out well, with Kevin saying, "these commercials are amazing.
When I asked if he was OK, he replied: "Is this as terrifying for you as it is for me? I'm really, really scared right now.
The site has one thing to recommend it – it links to some popular “ghost cams” around the world.
So ease yourself and your friends into a spooky evening with this tame horror trailer site.
Still the beating heart – let’s enter eight scary websites to spook yourself and your friends.
The site hasn’t been updated for a while, but it has an interesting paranormal photo gallery and ghost cam links.
This also needs a bit of updating, but you will find a treasure trove of links here which can take you to other sites like 4Chan and Creepypasta Index.
I am kidding here of course, but these cams are quite serious stuff as they watch over places like a Paris catacomb and even Graceland, waiting for Elvis to arise.
Let me also throw in Shock Till You Drop into the mix if you like to read about horror movies and watch out for what’s coming.
Settle down the heebie-jeebies, share these scary websites with your friends, and have fun with the scary stuff.
I’m a big horror movie buff and would any day prefer to watch a gory bloodbath over the latest teeny bopper.
The idea is similar to the many “choose your adventure” video popular around us except this is a scare show.
Horror Find says it is the first of its kind horror and Halloween search engine.
We featured this online scare show when we saw 3 Free Interactive Movies On The Web Where You Are In Control.

The channel itself is a series of videos (57 of them so far) that chronicles the mystery behind an amateur film called Marble Hornets.
It’s not going to scare you outright, but could be real handy for ideas when Halloween comes around.
We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face… we must do that which we think we cannot.
Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear.
Now the trumpet summons us again – not as a call to bear arms, though arms we need; not as a call to battle, though embattled we are; but a call to bear the burden of a long twilight struggle, year in and year out, ‘rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation’, a struggle against the common enemies of man: tyranny, poverty, disease and war itself.
Fear is a question: What are you afraid of, and why? Just as the seed of health is in illness, because illness contains information, your fears are a treasure house of self-knowledge if you explore them.
He conceals the other half out of fear of the people’s wrath.
Of course I shall go astray often…for who does not make mistakes? But I cannot go far wrong for I have seen the truth.
Nay, fly to altars; there they’ll talk you dead; For fools rush in where angels fear to tread.

It’s October which means it’s almost Halloween! October is filled with pumpkins, scary movies, and dressing up, but sometimes it’s hard to choose what to do.

Perhaps the players get to the haunted forest and experience all kinds of unsettling stuff as they travel through it by day – something moving beyond a cluster of trees, objects and people appearing and disappearing where they couldn’t, dead animals, completely silent areas with no bird chatter or wind rushing – and then when night falls, the horrors starts to seep in for real.
If the players decide to camp outside the region, then at one point the watch falls asleep, and when they all wake up they’re in the scary forest or whatever, and it’s still night, even though they feel like they got a proper 8 hours rest or whatever.
In horror movies, they always find a reason for the scary parts to take place at night (even if that reason is just sheer stupidity).
If they are interested, ask them why their characters would go in at night – let the players make up the reason! After all, they are interested in the horror.
For example, making it seem like the villagers’ fear of the bandits that hide in the woods is largely because the bandits use the woods’ spooky legends as cover, might actually get the players going into the woods at night to look for bandit camps when their guard is down.
Tell the players that this is a horror game and that their characters should go at night.
Ask the players if they are interested in how going in at night adds to the horror sort of theme.

Being Scared Sh*tless is a Good Thing.
Also explain that saying these things can hurt his child because his child loves you even if he does not, so it hurts her when he says bad things about someone the child loves.
If he did say those things he’d blow up at you and your baby If you mention it and make things worse.

The latest of these being used are the chain-email and the use of various social networking sites, which have been able to add an extra fear dynamic in the added clause that if the note is not forwarded to a certain number of people, some form of paranormal revenge will befall the ill-fated reader.
This Urban Legend is terrifying for babysitters, playing on the fear of intruders, both as the invader that they are supposed to protect the children from, as well as being a potential threat to the babysitter herself.
Despite complaining, the couple ended up staying the night, sleeping above the decomposing corpse of a Saul Hernandez, 64, who was found in a similar hiding place as the body in the Urban Legend in the Burgundy Motor Inn in Atlantic City, another American gambling Mecca.
The fear of clowns, or Coulrophobia, is a relatively widespread fear, and relates back to the famous Stephen King novel, It, in which seven children are terrorized by an entity that mainly appears in the form of ‘Pennywise the Dancing Clown.’ The twisted smiles and make up of clowns have come so much more to represent twisted and insane evil over the innocent child’s entertainer in recent years, most famously in Batman’s arch-nemesis, the psychopathic Joker.
( Secacus) This guys lost his mother in an accident in front of his house, and he sits on his roof every night looking at the spot she died.

I've been smoking pot for 35 years and most of you that have commented still don't get it – smoke your weed and go about your life – whether it be staring a walls or going out and living, just doing it while stoned creates a new perspective on things.
Watch a movie, play a video game, go about your normal life stoned, figure out something crazy to do with your high friends, there is plenty of other shit to do while high which is much more fun than anything on this list.
You assholes that write shit like "sucks, sounds like you just started smoking weed 2 days ago" and "what are you new" are typical shithead burnouts in that all they do is bring down the efforts of others without contributing jack fucking squat to anything in life.
I smoked the dankest shit ever seene, and i exhale, the worst feeling came up, like i was gonna throw up in my lungs, i'z all like "fuk im never smokn again dog" then about 3 minuits after the caughing, ..ha ohh shit here it starts, I Fucking Love EVERYTHINNGGG life is good man, life is, good.
chill out man all stoner's are different who gives a shit how long youv'e smoked or what you enjoy! JUST ENJOY Yourself and fuck trying to tell others how to enjoy their smoking we all like different things because we are all different so chill out and be happy no need to argue.
this one is not real, but bloody mary is.here is the real story.the once was a girl named mary she hada coma and when she never wokeup for a year they thought she was dead so they planned a funeral.the mom would not believe she was dead so the mom tied a bell to her wrist.when they buried her her mom made them bury her in there yard.after a while she woke up and moved her hand and started ringing the bell.her parents went on vacation so after a while she started scratching on the top of the coffin and her finger nails broke off and stayed on the top off the coffin she finally died from suffocation.when they got back from vacation the bell string was broke so the mother dug her back up and she was in the same pose of scratching the top of the coffin.blood on the top of the coffin from where her nails broke.
and the movie is about this girl in a bathroom and she lit up a candle n there was 3 candles and she looked in the mirror and said Bloody Mary 3 time’s and read a story, then the candles went out n she hurried n turn the lights on, then the lights started to turn off n on.
well, ive probably heard this story more than anyone on here its an all out classic so when i decided i wanted to read some ghost stories this popped up and no matter how many times ive heard of it i still have to read it its like a tradition, but on another note many of the pictures in the video dont even depict bloody mary the first two actually are of la llorona the story about her tells how she is a buetiful women who has about 2 or 3 children, and when a supposedly umbelievably handsom man rolls through her town she decides she has to have him, so they get to talking and he finds out that she has children and thats someting he doesnt want to be a part of, and in la llorana’s urge to have this man she actually kills her children in the hopes that this man will now take her that she no longer has her children as a supposed burdon to the man, once he actually finds out what she had done he cant beleive it and is completely disgusted with her, so he leaves town hopeing to never see her again, now knowing that what she had done did nothing to help her attain her man she goes back to where she killed her children and begs to get them back but to no avail, in an unbeleiveably intense state of guilt she takes her own life but to her suprise she goes neither to heaven nor hell and for this horrible thing she has done to her own children she is banished to wonder the earth searching for her children, its said that sometimes if you come into contact with la llorona she will take you thinking you were her child.
It took me like 3 hours(jk but it seemed like it) to read all dem freakin comments.lol.like half said it wuz real and half said it wazz fake.Ive never done but i believe in her(Bloody Mary)Its also the name of a drink.LOL.Some of u who said it didnt work when u did it iz maybe cuz u did it wrong.I have heard that u r supposed to Turn the lights off(in the bathroom),Run the hot water until there is steam, have a mirror and a candle,Break the mirror and spin around and say "Bloody Mary,Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary".
wow good story guys i have 1 to about bloody mary u no one time i went to the bathroom when i was 10! i span around infront of the mirror three times and sed the name.
This 1 isnt real. She is real though.I was chillin at my friends house then all the sudden she brought up ghosts. She dared me to do bloody mary.I went into her bathroom and she lit i think it was 6 candles. She closed the door and i turned off the light.I said bloody mary like 13 times.I also spinned around.I stopped spinning and then i started screaming like somebody was trying to kill me.She was like right behind me and i turned on the lights. And she was gone.Since that day my friends nickname is dumb@ss.I woke up the next morning with scratches on my neck.
Jst Lyk to start off by saying that I’m so glad to have found this web page, jst by reading the messages above its made me calmer over nyt , thanks , I’m 25 nd I first had my anxiety attack when I was 20, which then went on to be my first panic attack to, I thought I was going mental to the point I could not control , the thoughts and images towards my family were just sickining to the point I couldn’t eat drink or sleep , I went on the sick from work and I was scared to talk to someone incase I was sectioned for being mental , I eventually got the currage to go to see my doctor which to be fair didn’t really help my situation , this went on for weeks until I received a number for councilling , as soon as I rang this lady she was able to explain what was wrong with me and was able to calm me down over the phone , I went to see her for about 5 weeks, an hour a week that is , which in that time helped me massively , I went through a lot of stress and pressure which led to my first experience of anxiety and panic attack, After the scary thoughts what were aimed towards my family, the thought dissapeared after a while and I was starting to feel myself, when one day I was driving across a bridge when all of the sudden a thought just popped into my mind of jumping off and it petrified me and I could jst not get this out of my mind, I no deep down that I would never ever act upon any of the thoughts I had, so I could just not understand why I was having these horrible scary thoughts, eventually that thought passed me by, but what I did notice was after a while I found it really uncomfortable when even I seen a bridge or a knife due to my past experiences which then triggered things back off again.
Does this feeling of it being in the background eventually go too.? Also like you Tracey when not there i seem to sort of go looking for the bloomin things, like i suddenly realise i haven’t thought it for an hour then wham its there, how do we get out of that one? Candie am i right in thinking that on the days when i can deal with them better or they aren’t there is that when the anxiety/adrenalin levels are lower? I am trying to do what you said about mocking them, sometimes today i managed but a couple of times got bit tearful as got scared again, i sometimes think for me it follows a pattern, i feel the anxiety build in my body, then the bizarre thought comes, i panic and cry quickly followed by the other 2 thoughts thoughts of its too bizarre for anxiety and it won’t ever go away, i think those last 2 thoughts scare me more than the original but i am again trying hard to remember what you said that if i’m not anxious then how can they scare me, its lack of knowledge of how the brain works i think, like my daughter says i’m assuming i will feel and react how i do now when recovered and i talk about the thought.
